Pet care experience
I have cared for pets off and on for most of my life, and not just my own. I have cared for animals ranging from chickens to horses. I am also comfortable administering most medications, especially for dogs and cats. I have cared for a dog with diabetes before and my own cats have at times needed oral medications.

We totally felt at ease during time away from home because Shelby was so thoughtful, texting photos of our kitty and giving a few words on what our boy was doing. Highly recommend Shelby! We will be calling her back!
I always request Shelby when I need a cat sitter. She takes care of my furbabies like they're her own. Can't praise her enough for giving me peace of mind when I need to go out of town. Shelby sends me pictures of my cats on a daily basis and sends me notes telling me how they're doing. She's super friendly and obviously an animal lover. I highly recommend Shelby!!!
I’m one of “those” cat moms and I was very nervous to leave my girl but Shelby was fantastic and kept me updated about her visits, and sent pictures. If we need a sitter again, I will definitely call Shelby first.
The cat only had nice things to say about Shelby. She sent lots of pictures and was wonderful to work with.

I typically will not be offering home services because I live in an apartment with my two cats. However, I am up for visiting your home or walking a dog wherever they would like to go!

I mostly just need to know if a dog or cat has any specific needs (e.g. amount of time outside, regular or timed trips outside for potty breaks, special diet/medication, old or current injuries to keep an eye on/treat, etc.)
A typical day
I love to stick as closely to a dog or cat's normal routine as possible. If you usually take your dog around the neighborhood each day, I will do my best to take him or her out. If you prefer to take your dog to a dog park or somewhere else, I will also do so. If your dog prefers to mostly stay in and only leave for potty breaks, that works, too! Similarly, if your cat needs a certain amount of playtime, supervised outdoor strolls, or just a quiet place to hide and sleep, I will do my best to match their usual needs.

Availability
I do work full time as an instructor at a college, so my hours are fairly flexible. I am usually on campus for around 3-4 hours each day and otherwise work from home.
