Pet care experience
Hello! I’m Shelby and I grew up in Crystal Lake. My husband and I run our dog boarding and house sitting business together. We are bilingual, Spanish and English. We will be unavailable for requests mid May-June 2024. Shelby As a child my dream job response was veterinarian (although I now work as a teacher). I’m 100% a dog person and love all animals. Being with dogs renews my energy so that I am my best for my students. I’ve been dog sitting and dog walking for clients since 2017. Prior to that, I had taken care of family friends’ dogs- pugs, golden retrievers, labs, poodles and more. Jose My wife says all dogs love me and that I am a dog whisperer. I don’t know if that’s true, but I sure do love spending time with dogs. I’m always happy when I’ve got a dog by my side. I’m also available for odd jobs and anything IT related. I have my BS in computer science. We can do drop in visits, walks, overnights and boarding. We are also offering doggie daycare out of our home, see below for more info. Shelby and Jose do a wonderful job caring for Layla while we are away. Layla is always so excited to see them both whenever we arrive to drop her off; it’s clear she enjoys her time with them. They send lots of pictures and updates throughout her stays and are very communicative and easy to plan with. I highly recommend them!

It’s our goal to understand your dog’s routines so we can do our best to continue those during their stay with us. 🐶 🦴 Doggie daycare 🦴 🐶 We charge $10 an hour, maxing at $40 for a day (maximum daycare stay is 8 hours). We also work out month passes at a lower rate based on your needs. Message us to discuss further. Doggie daycare does not include an overnight. 💵 ⭐️ —————- ⭐️ 💵 Referral program We currently have a give $20, get $20 for referring a friend. When your friend successfully completes their first booking, you will get $20 off a future booking. Your friend gets $20 off their first booking with us as well. 💵 ⭐️ —————- ⭐️ 💵

We like to do meet and greets with pets and families to get to know what to expect from your pet. We like to know the feeding schedule, typical behaviors, how your dog likes to be pet, and more.
A typical day
If it’s the weekend or summer, your dog and I will enjoy playing at home, relaxing on the couch and taking walks throughout the neighborhood and nearby park. There is even a dog park we can go to if it is nice and you don’t mind us taking your pooch for a car ride. During the work week, I come home at lunch to provide a potty break and playtime, but also my husband works from home so he can provide potty breaks as needed.

Availability
When we board, we are able to offer potty breaks about every four hours during the work week. During holidays, weekends and summers we are home more frequently. Jose can also work from home sometimes.
