Pet care experience
I grew up with dogs and cats, so I’ve been taking care of animals almost my entire life! I listen intently to energy, and find it easy to connect to animals by following their focus and understanding what they want. I don’t let animals get away with bad manners, though - I never tire of reinforcing basic commands. I don’t let dogs up on the furniture unless I specifically invite them to, and I firmly believe that begging does not deserve a reward. I can pet and play with a cat for as long as they’ll allow it - I'm always in the mood to have a cat sit on my lap while I do work on the computer or read. I love being outside with a dog, letting them explore and get exercise and expend their energy - inside, I like to practice calmness. I work as a flight attendant and have a lot of extra time during the week - & I have a puppy who lives with my parents out-of-state because of my job, and I miss her so much. I will happily spend time with your doggo to make up for that :)

I’ve known Shelby for nearly five years; a professional three years beyond which we’ve remained good friends after parting ways. Within the framework of the job, I witnessed Shelby go beyond the expectations of her position by examining the space and all organizational levels around her, improving our world in ways large and small with no incentive other than creating a better space and culture for everyone. She has a grace and attention to detail that cannot be taught. What would translate to dog-sitting, I expect, would be integrity. A service beyond going through the motions; a keen eye and ear for what the dog is asking for and an abundance of effort to provide.
Shelby is a genuine dog lover! She has an ability to bond with these special creatures and relate to them the way most people do with other people. She has an inate sense for what these glorious animals perceive and she deals with them and interacts with them from that perspective. Shelby does not treat dogs, nor any other animal for that matter, as if they are merely animals, she cultivates a give and take relationship and actually befriends these unique creatures. Shelby is certainly a great young woman with a strong unique gift for interacting with dogs! Thank you, Sherry
