Pet care experience
I moved to the Oak Harbor area in 2022 with my husband who is in the Navy. I love animals and have spent most of my career working at zoos or aquariums. I've worked most animal jobs, from horse ranches, shelters, vets offices, and zoos! I've had lots of pets of my own, and recently adopted an Australian cattle dog. We are BIG in training right now and working on good behavior and positive relationships!

If I could rate Shelby a 20-star, I would! This was our first time using Rover, and the experience was flawless. She was great at communicating, sent updates and pictures, and made sure Carol was perfectly cared for! You can tell how much she loves animals - and it allowed me to leave overnight with absolutely no anxiety!! I’ll absolutely have her back next time we need a drop-in! Shelby - thank you again so much!!!!

Please let me know if you have an older dog. I have had a few senior dogs and I know they are not always able to do as much as younger dogs. Also important to know any reactivity or aggression your dog may have, along with schedules and any ongoing training!
A typical day
I love to go run at the local parks and trails! I'm big on leash manners, so this is awesome training time. I also really enjoy exploring all the dog friendly restaurants and breweries in the area. We take our dog on a walk every day and try to have play time in the yard to get out all the zoomies. Otherwise we're relaxing at home!

Availability
I am currently in between jobs, so for the time being I am home full-time. This may not always be the case, but for right now I'm taking advantage of having the time to spend with our new pup! Because he is still learning manners, I cannot board any pets without a doggie meet & greet. But I am happy to drop in and do check ins on your pet or take them on walks as needed!
