A fun, engaging friend for your pet
Pet care experience
I grew up in a home with loving Labradors, and I'll never forget the day my father let me bring home my first pup. Dogs are amazingly loving creatures, and I'd love the chance to befriend canine companions in my neighborhood and help them enjoy healthy, satisfying lives. In my youth, I completed a veterinary internship where I learned a lot about canine behavior, as well as some basic first aid and canine CPR. I've rescued and fostered several dogs of different sizes and ages since -- most recently an elderly beagle named Gucci. Now that I live in an apartment that doesn't allow tail-waggers, however, you can bet I've got a lot of doggy-doting to deliver to your pet. I have experience engaging and training dogs at all stages of life, individually and in groups -- and I'm not afraid of a challenge. In fact, I once lived in a home that had more dogs than humans inside -- a Labrador, an American Bulldog, a Bernese Mountain Dog, and a miniature Pinscher -- and those dog park days with our small pack were heaven. Big or small, all dogs deserve love and attention. When busy days or trips come up, you can be confident that I'll provide both to your furry friend(s).

Information Shelby C. would like to know about your pet
Any information about your dog's temperament and preferences is always appreciated so that I can nurture your pet in the way that is the most comfortable for them and retains your training methods. I'm happy to work with all breeds, from Chihuahuas to Great Danes, and am skilled at patiently soothing pets that may be experiencing separation anxiety.
A typical day
I always enjoy getting outside in the fresh air, and I enjoy taking dogs to clean, grassy areas where they have plenty to explore. If there's a park nearby, we'll be walking that way with a toy for some fetch or sniff-and-seek multiple times a stay during daylight hours. During home visits, you can be sure that whatever approved toys are available will be getting some good use -- be it a tug rope, a tennis ball, or a Kong with owner-approved treats inside.
