We have booked Shelbey on a couple of previous instances with very positive experiences. This past experience was unfortunately disappointing. Of the five nights of 'House Sitting' we booked with her, she only stayed overnight twice. When we addressed with her our concerns, she said she was sick and did the best she could under the circumstances. While we sympathize with her, there was a lack of communication and if she was unable to complete her responsibilities she should have notified us so we could make alternative arrangements. Additionally, when we came home after a long day of travel we found no food in the dog bowls (we free feed) and the dogs we keep in the kennel had an accident. We understand accidents happen, but they haven't in years and it appeared that way too many treats were given even though we explicitly stated to limit. When we confronted her with our concerns and sought to work it out between us, she was defensive and unwilling to work with us. We went to Rover support who were quick to resolve our frustration to our satisfaction. I will note, she was generous enough to stay late with no extra charge to accommodate our late arrival which we sincerely appreciated. Again, we had multiple positive experiences with her before and perhaps this was a one-off situation, but we were disappointed with what occurred and her lack of willingness to take responsibility.
