Greetings from Shaya (Kristen), Nicole and Kini! For your beloved pup, we want this to be their fun vacation, relaxing retreat, and home away from home. We call our place the Canine Cabana because it really is their space. We love spending quality time with more dogs and having our dear pup make some new friends! We have both always been big dog-lovers!! It will often be just Shaya caring for your baby, and sometimes it will be daughter Nicole or both of us. Either way, there will be lots of love and attention!! This is what we do and we make sure to have plenty of free time during stays to spoil your pup or kitty. And we're sure to make friends fast! We've both dog sat and walked dogs for clients, friends, and family for many years. We truly have a deep love, respect, and connection with our canine friends. And they are treated as such because we know how much ours means to us. The positivity, love, and joy she brings to our lives are cherished and invaluable gifts. Dogs continue to teach us how to remain in high, positive spirits- and how contagious it is when we do! Also, as frequent travelers, we know how important it is to be confident that your loved one is happy, safe, and well cared for and that will absolutely be the case here! They are your family, and they become our family while they're here. This is their vacation!!! This is what we do! I will have plenty of time to care for your baby. My schedule generally revolves around the pets I take care of. . We have a fenced-in yard with a mini forest in the backyard. We have a lot of fun outdoor time mixed with cozy time inside.

We would not recommend this sitter and will not rebook. Our dog's medication was misplaced/lost, her other medication seems not to have been administered (her eyes were terribly inflamed and red whereas the medicine controls it), and we arrived to find our dog's bed out in the front lawn, soiled with dog pee. Our dogs have not ever peed on their beds like this, so I am not sure what would have caused it. We did pick up the dogs about 20 minutes before our slated time after not hearing back from her earlier in the day, so I think we had somewhat surprised her with our timing. But if we had been 20 minutes later, it would not change the fact that the dogs did not appear to get the care we thought they would. This woman seems deeply to care about dogs and wellness, but something seemed very off with our experience.
Kristen is a true dog-lover, the kind that you know will make sure your baby is safe and gets the right kind of love and attention!
Kristen was a fantastic vacation mom to my two pups, staying at my house and giving them lots of love while I was on vacation. I have two very sweet and high energy, sometimes neurotic dogs, and Kristen took extra time to get to know them and their routines before I left. From the moment they met her and showered her with kisses, I knew they'd be in good hands. She sent me frequent updates on how they were doing and some great action pics of them on walks. She even tried out some new treatments to help Leslie stop chewing on her paws and to help calm Homer's anxiety. She also left my house spotless, which was a great relief to come home to. I highly recommend her!

Come one come all! As long as your dog gets along well with other dogs, is vaccinated & doesn't have anything communicable, he or she is welcome! They will be loved and adored. We are open to any special needs, requests, or instructions. Just let us know. We are especially adept at handling separation anxiety and other emotional challenges.
A typical day
We live just a couple miles from the East Atlanta Village and have a large fenced in backyard that's like a small forest. Dogs love it!! There's always exploring, running around, squirrel chasing, bird watching, catch, frisbee, and many doggie activities to play right here! We also have a small doggie pool. There are also lots of quiet neighborhood paths and parks nearby for long walks. We live very close to a couple great parks so we frequent those, as well as Piedmont, Oakhurst & Grant Park. We also like to bring them to a nearby lake or wetlands. We are huge nature lovers and there is no better company to appreciate it with than dogs! So we hike often with Kakini & other dogs. We would love to bring yours along if they’re here when we go! (We do not go on these adventures, however, if some pups can’t participate). Some of our favorite hikes are Kennessaw mountain, Cascade Nature Preserve, Sweetwater Creek and the trails around Stone Mountain. Cute local pet shops are a nice stop for getting a special treat. And, if there happen to be any dog-centered or dog-friendly activities happening nearby, we also might bring them for a little extra fun! Please note.. We have various rates in addition to those listed. *Pick-Up, Drop-Off Rate (this can be for daycare or boarding, and also vet or grooming appointments or general pet transportation- $20 each way. (Rates are for within a 5 mile radius. Further may be possible with a small fee per mile.)
