Pet care experience

Hi there, Shay & Zach here We'd love to meet you and your dogs! We specialize in small dogs to promote play and socialization at their level. Often times little dogs, regardless of energy level, need companions more their size to feel relaxed and comfortable. For this reason, we prefer dogs to be under 25lbs and will not accept dogs over 40lbs into the pack. __________________ Our two small dogs, Bailey & Beau, love meeting new friends and having doggy sleepovers. We know that your pets are a part of the family, just like ours. You can be sure that we'll take care of them as if they were our own. Your fur-babies are in good hands. __________________ OUR CREDENTIALS: We are both avid lovers of the natural world and pet owners all our lives. Shay is an animal care professional with: - A Bachelors degree in animal science - 8+ years of experience with domestic and exotic species - Certification in pet first aid & CPR __________________

Safety, trust & environment

OUR ENVIRONMENT: Dogs in our care are allowed social time when someone is around to supervise. When we must leave the dogs unattended, they are separated and crated for their safety. Dogs from the same family are usually kept together unless used to being crated separately. We do our best to make sure all dogs are within visual range of each other in the same room to offer comfort despite being separated. Alternate housing options are available in the event that crating is not possible. The dogs are regularly given free access to the back yard to come and go as they please when we are home. When this isn't possible, due to weather (or excessive barking), we offer them potty breaks every 2 ish hours, or when they "tell" us they need to go. Dogs are given plenty of space and are supervised during meal times, to mitigate any food aggression or bowl stealing. Because we care for multiple dogs at once, we cannot accommodate "grazing" behavior i.e. leaving food out. What we can do is offer your pup some time to themselves to eat, away/protected from others. It is typical for some dogs to not eat during the initial meal times on their first stay. We usually let them warm up at their own pace but have plenty of ways to entice them to eat of you'd prefer (peanut butter, chicken broth, cheese, etc). The dogs sleep as a pack and have the opportunity to choose where and whom to snuggle up to with a variety of beds, blankets, and flooring options.

Information Shay & Zach H. would like to know about your pet

We require a Meet & Greet prior to every dogs first stay. This allows your dog(s) a chance to interact with ours, for you and your pup to become more familiar with our space, and for us to get to know each other. Ahead of the Meet & Greet, it is important for us to know: what is their experience level in groups of dogs, with crate training, and with potty training (accidents or marking tendencies)? We can only accept spayed and neutered dogs. Packing list: - food - leash & harness (if they have one) - regular bedding (anything they normally sleep on that smells like home) - medications if applicable Extras: - toys/treats (you're welcome to pack these but we also have plenty to share) - crate (we do have extra metal crates for small dogs)

A typical day

While staying in our home, your pets can expect: - Quality outside time in a fenced back yard complete with kiddie pool, raised dog beds, and the exciting sights & sounds of neighbor cats, native birds, and the occasional chipmunk. - Lots of tasty treats, tons of toys, and plenty of soft places to rest. - A spot in our own little pack for play and companionship
