I love to go the extra mile when it comes to caring for you and your pet! I love to do extra, whether that means asking extra questions, doing extra things like bringing in the paper, placing a bouquet of flowers for house, or sending pictures to clients so they never miss out on their pets adventures throughout the day! I have 3 Chihuahuas & a Shih Tzu/Pom. I have fostered, volunteered and worked for various animal shelters & vet clinics for the majority of my life. That included Best Friends Animal Society in Utah, the nation's largest no kill animal sanctuary. I started out as an intern and was later hired as a caregiver at "DogTown". I recently obtained my dog walker & apprentice trainer certification as well as my Canine Good Citizen evaluator certification I obtained my dog walker & apprentice trainer certification through AZ Dog Sports. I'm also an active member of APDT (Assoc of Professional Dog Trainers) I'm very comfortable administering medications (oral & injectable) if needed. I read dog body language very well & feel comfortable working with dogs one on one or in a group. I'd love to learn more about you and your pet. Let's set up a meet and greet!

I cannot say enough positive things about my experience with Shauna, a very sweet and cheerful caregiver. Shauna has had a life long love affair with animals, especially dogs. She has devoted her life to working and caring for animals from Best Friends in Utah to animal shelters here in Arizona. She was a neighbor when she asked if I would foster a very sad dog who was not doing well in the shelter, and when I did my foster found his forever home with me. Now I rely on her to care for my dog while I am away and I know not only will she care and love my dog but she will strive for new ways to teach and enrich his life as well :) I would highly recommend Shauna to walk, sit or care for your animals as she will treat them as her own and give them the very best loving care.

Assuming your dog has no food allergies they would get high value treats when we first meet (chicken, turkey or hot dogs). When doing greetings I keep it calm & let the dog have the control in the situation with minimal interference from me. Always loose leash for the dogs involved and I know when to end it by closely observing body language. I want to know from the client any fears the dog has like places, noises, kids, other dogs, certain areas , bicycles. Is the dog house trained? When does he eat and exercise? Favorite toys?
A typical day
Your dog would have their breakfast in a fun puzzle toy then go for a walk. I love taking dogs to visit hiking trails, the farmers market, dog friendly restaurant. Another lovely outing is a walk along the canal! When we got home we would plan the evening's dinner, play some scentwork games & then watch a good movie snuggled up in bed.
