Pet care experience
My history with pets started very young as my family always had dogs, at 11 years old I trained and handled our German shepherd in Agility. From there I worked along side my mom who is a professional positive reinforcement dog trainer, tellington touch practitioner, and is a K9 nose work instructor . I have also worked in the family dog boarding kennel for years learning dog body language and dealing with reactive dogs. I have worked as an animal health technician for 7 years. I currently have 1 rescue dog and am a stay at home mom ,my kids. My kids are 9,5, and 4 months. I have owned 3 dogs at a time and now we have the 1 and I am at home I decided I want to fill that space with caring for other people dogs (fur kids). where I can get around different breeds like I have in my past jobs and do what I am passionate about. I am open to caring for any breed ,size , and age. If there is a situation I think your dog will not settle in our home ( scared of kids, etc. ) I will recommend you find a home that is quieter. I pride myself on having a comfortable , stress free, fun situation for your dog to stay while you are away.

Shauna was great with my 15-year-old Beagle mix. I was a little worried about leaving him for a week because of his age. He did so great and I will rebook with Shauna again any time I need to leave him. I got pictures from her throughout the week and she even gave him a bath before sending him home. I missed my old guy but wasn't worried while away because I knew he was in good hands.

Information Shauna L. would like to know about your pet
I don't have any breed preferences but knowing the age, breed and any health issues would be beneficial for example a brachialcephlic dog (pug,boxer etc.) may not do so well on a 1 hour walk on a hot morning so I will make sure to take it to a trail with shade and a cooler spot where it can thrive on a walk. Each dog will get exercise in amounts that are suitable for their age, breed , health issues etc. When your dog is staying with me it will only be 1 family of pets and my dog at a time so they are comfortable and don't have a high stress situation. Although it is a home situation your dog will have its own space for down time or to eat. Many may think it's great when the dogs are free to play all day but that can create a stressful situation and we want your pet to feel as comfortable it can be so we take a few different measures that you may notice from other facilities to help reach and maintain our goal of a healthy , stress free stay!
A typical day
Depending on the dogs health,activity level and endurance activity will vary , we have a large fenced in yard which your dog will get plenty of outdoor playtime. We will throw balls, toys. I am always out with the dogs while they are outside to keep an eye on play. We also take the dogs for walks with our family around the neighbourhood for a change of scenery.
