Pet care experience
I have had dogs of my own since 1997. I spend time at our local animal shelter walking dogs. We now have two large dogs of our own. We, meaning my husband and I, have provided dog walking training at the animal shelter and we have provided additional instruction to individual people. I have worked independently at the animal shelter to fill in for staff members. I have been a volunteer at the local animal shelter since August of 2008. I believe exercise is very important for all breeds of dogs. I was a member and on the board for FOCAS (Friends of Caring Animal Shelters) until its dissolution. I have donated much of my time, money and energy to providing a better life for many animals.

Have they bitten people? (To tell you the truth I have worked with dogs who have bitten people and have helped turn them around) What are their habits? Any health concerns? Special diets? Do the dogs have any fears? (One of our dogs has a fear of thunder - it is a good thing to know their fears). I haven't found a bread yet I didn't like so I am sorry I do not have a breed preference. I have worked with pit bulls, German Sheppards, etc.
A typical day
Play with balls, frisbees, and other things the dogs are into. I would walk the dogs in their neighborhoods. Play with them in their yards. Pet them a lot. Take to the water during the warmer months. Bring them to the dog park. They need to get exercise unless physically unable to do so.
