Pet care experience

Quaint hamlet in Raleigh Hills with accommodating, hummingbird feeding, rescue rabbit tending, wanna-be in-residence graphic artist and pet-minder with the perfect temperament to watch canine companions under 15 lbs. You can count on your lad and/or lassie being pampered during his/her scheduled respite be it brief, a fortnight (14 days) or longer. Amenities: Fall, Winter and Spring - Gas fireplace, hardwoods, bay window, indoor family room theater with red leather Chesterfield dog lounge and frequent trips to a 14,500 sq. ft. fenced yard. *No pesticides are used on the landscaping Summer - Everything we offer in the Fall, Winter and Spring plus extended time in front of a outdoor fireplace, fountain, lap pool, dog lounges and outdoor “Groovy Theater”, when weather permits. Toodle pip! P.S. *Please text us on the number Rover gave you to contact us when you arrive at your scheduled time for your Meet & Greet and/or Drop-off or Pick-up. The doorbell drives our furry guests to distraction! **Our fees are like a hotel. 11am checkout the next day or a Doggy Daycare fee of $35 is expected. If your fur baby has not been picked-up by 6pm, it is understood that a fee of $55 for a full night's stay is expected, and that you will pick your dog up the next morning by 11am. As we all know with air travel, flights can be delayed sometimes until the wee hours of the next morning. We begin getting our guests settled-in and quieted down in the evening with our family. Thank you for being courteous of our needs as well, since we are up very early each morning with our guests needs. ***ALL DOGS FLEA PREVENTION AND VACCINES MUST BE IN PLACE AND UP TO DATE PRIOR TO SCHEDULED STAY. Our guests are supervised during playtime in a fenced area with grass and foliage. ****Advise of any food restrictions / special dietary requirements your dog may have. It is a good idea to keep your pet's Rover profile up to date with any special requirements. *****We watch up to 4 small dogs on any given day. On very rare occasions, we will agree to watch larger dogs. On those rare occasions we keep our guests separated by size. *Due to COVID and it’s variants, along with a major remodel, we are not giving tours of our home at this time. We arrange to have driveway meet and greets with owners and their pets to give owners an opportunity to meet us and answer any questions they might have. A high quality, immaculate, well maintained, and safe environment are our number one priorities when pet sitting. We take great pride in what we do. And as such, we would ask that dog owners consider the environment best suited for their pet, in their stage of life. If your pet is older with health issues, consider boarding them with a vet, as that would be in your pet’s, and your best interests. Dogs not potty trained, and/or with physically destructive temperaments are better suited for a stay at a professional kennel with flooring and construction suitable for those personality traits . Dogs with intense separation anxiety would be better suited for a stay with a veterinarian that specializes in easing the anxiety associated with separation anxiety.

I'm so happy with Lily's stay with Shari, and would definitely use her again. Shari kept me updated on Lily the entire time, and really seem to enjoy her. Typically when Lily is returned to me after a time away, she's beside herself and cannot be close enough to me, and stays anxious for about 24 hours after. This was not the case this time! Lily, while still excited to see me, was not so desperate, and not anxious at all and we were able to fall back into our normal rhythm so much sooner! To me, this means she had a relaxing stay and really had a great time with Shari. Thank you so much for opening your home to my sweet girl and taking such good care of her.

Shari is a wonderful and caring sitter, so glad we connected with her and we would never think of anyone else to take care of our dog Freya when we are out of town. Shari always has little notes and sends cute photos of Freya during her stays, and Freya is always happy to see Shari😁!

We love Shari and her family! More importantly, the pups love them! We feel so fortunate to have found such kind, caring, and responsible care for our pups. Shari sends pics and updates, and we never spend a moment worrying about the pups while we are away!

A typical day

The day begins early with a stroll out to a private approx. 15,000 square foot fenced yard, immediately followed by breakfast and a fireside coffee chat in the great room with plenty of warmth, rapartee, classical music and/or English inspired movies and/or telly series. Right now we're screening Agatha Christie of course, Downton Abbey, Austin Powers, Nanny McPhee, Absolutely Fabulous, Babe The Pig, Bridget Jones Diary, James Bond, Wuthering Heights, Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Dr. Doolittle, The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, Harry Potter, The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, etc. Another walkabout with a snack/lunch occurs between 10am and Noon, another breath of fresh air around 3pm and towards the latter part of the day, 5 pm 'ish. There's always another stroll just before bedtime concluding a idyllic day in our little shire. Seeing your companion happy, relaxed, entertained and feeling as though he/she is at home and loved in our home is our goal.

Your pet’s care involves the entire family. I share my home and the care of my furry charges with my husband Rob, and daughter Ava (20). They assist me on occasion in the various tasks of catering to our guests including helping carry things in and out, along with sometimes welcoming our furry guests and/or reuniting them with their owners.
