Pet care experience
Dogs are fantastic! They have this ability to be endlessly loving and have no expectations outside of care of love in return. Dogs have always brought a smile to my face and the ability to have a job where I can surround myself with dogs is a dream come true. I enjoy petsitting because I can help pet parents feel comfortable while they're away by providing top care for their dogs. I've grown up around dogs nearly all my life! I had two dogs growing up: Tuck, who was a Yellow Lab, and Sasha, who was a mix. I loved them dearly and they fostered my great love of dogs! My grandparents have also always had a dog, so wherever I went there were four legs and a wagging tail waiting for me! I started volunteering at the local shelter when I was 14, and I stayed with them until I graduated school and left for university. I started off just helping with adoption events, but I quickly moved into care of animals. I started pet-sitting and dog walking for friends, families and neighbors because I loved working with dogs so much. I’ve loved taking in new pups whenever I can and always enjoy getting to meet a new friend! Communication is key for any great stay! Having an open line of communication with an owner is vitally important, as it keeps you up to date on what’s going on with your pooch. It also provides a level of transparency needed when you’ve entrusted your best friend to me. Being attentive and documenting changes, and alerting owners as needed is paramount to good care and building trust. Getting to know a dog and be comfortable with each other is a matter of not going too fast and the comfort of home territory. Liberal application of a favorite toy can help with more nervous dogs, but no dog can deny the call of a much loved squeaky toy! Meet and greets should always be on neutral or the dog's home territory, for their comfort. If there's any dog that displays persistent reticence to my presence, than I would say we may need to arrange for another sitter. I have no preference for breed or size; all dogs are welcome! I have the most experience with medium and large breeds, though I have worked with every size of dog. For walks and drop in's I'm available in Round Rock and North Austin. For any overnight 1-7 nights I'm available in Round Rock, North and South Austin. For any overnight exceeding seven days I'm available in Round Rock, North and South Austin and a majority of the greater Austin area.
Reviews
Sharday and I grew up together, and she's always loved animals. Their face always lit up around dogs, especially. We worked together at the shelter in our town, and they really came to life when they were taking care of the animals.
Sharday has been my go-to petsitter since she was seventeen. She always made sure my dog was well-taken care of, that I was kept informed and I always came home to a happy dog. I've recommended her before, and I'm more than happy to recommend her now.

Information Sharday T. would like to know about your pet
Some things I like to learn ahead of time: Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay? What’s your preferred method of communication? Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening? What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid? What’s the best way to spoil your pup?
A typical day
We would start our morning outside, in the backyard or on a walk, stretching our legs and warming up for the day. After a breakfast we could play some games or try out some new tricks and after lunch, another nice jaunt outside followed by some cool down time. Dinner leads into a nice evening outside and then it's time for bed! Parks are a great place for long, slow walks or a rousing game of fetch or a lay in the shade. Austin and its surroundings are a haven of dog friendly or dog parks and there's two near my house. There's also a cavalcade of dog-friendly cafes or hangouts and I'm always eager to see if the you or your pup already have a favorite spot! I’m always happy to explore as much as I can, and there’s no better way to do that than with a canine co-pilot alongside you. Austin is a sprawling metroplex with no end hidden gems to explore and a new furry friend is more than welcome on any adventure!
