Big or Small, I can handle it all

Pet care experience

I am an animal rescuer and an advocate for animals to the best of my abilities. I use my Facebook primarily to network urgent animals in need and doing my best to ensure they make their way to safety. I volunteer to do animal transports. I believe animals are the very best companions and should be treated as family. I’m very protective over my own pets and would ensure to treat yours with the same respect and love. I usually put my pets needs before my own. I do not have any issues working with difficult dogs. I am very vigilant and can read dog behavior well. I have expierence with working with temperamental dogs who can be challenging. I do not breed discriminate. Boarding at my house- I have fostered animals for years for rescue organizations in my own home. I have boarded cats and dogs of every size and every breed. When I am unable to supervise, your pet will be in a crate for security with their favorite things. If your dog needs to be kept separate from other animals, I have the ability and space to accommodate this need. Walking/drop in’s- I can do it all- walks to burn some energy, scooping litter boxes, picking up inside accidents, feeding, letting out for potty, medicating if needed (expierenced with insulin injections), playing or just relaxing with your pet. Whatever makes them the happiest. Feel free to contact me if you’re interested in entrusting your furkid in my care. I will not disappoint.

Shannon did a fantastic job for us. She truly has a keen sense on how to make our pet feel at home and her attention to detail is refreshing. I highly recommend her and my family will definitely use her services again.

Shannon is very friendly. She took real good care of our dog, Noah. She sent pictures and video of him to us. You could tell by the pictures and video of him that he was happy being there. How she was able to get good pictures of him just amazes me. We’ve had Noah 11 years and he has never stood still long enough to get a good picture of him. I would highly recommend her as a sitter. You can leave your dog there and know that he will be taken very good care of.

Shannon was great with our older beagle. He has never stayed with anyone besides family before and he felt right at home with Shannon. We got lots of pictures of him getting snuggles and updates about how he was doing. I'd highly recommend Shannon to anyone looking for a dog sitter!!

Information Shannon L. would like to know about your pet

It’s important to know how the dog does with other dogs and/or cats. I have both but have the ability to keep separate if your dog needs to be the only pet. I need to know if they have a bite history or behavioral concerns. This won’t turn me away but it would allow me to be extra vigilant. Does your dog do fine being crated? I do crate when I am unable to supervise 100%. Do you allow your dog on furniture? I do allow mine but want to keep them in the habit of what their expectations are when they’re at home, to not confuse them. Do they have any medical needs or medical history that I need to be made aware of? Do they require medications? Do they require a special diet? Are they afraid of certain things? Do they have certain triggers? Are they spayed/neutered? Are they up to date on vaccinations? Any special needs? I do not breed descriminate

A typical day

If your dog needs to be kept separate from other animals, I have the ability and space to accommodate this need. I leash walk in my neighborhood as well as on the side walk along Woodlawn by HMH. I make sure no one pets your dog while we are out on walks to ensure the safety of everyone. If your dog can be with other animals without issue, Freeman Lake in etown has a large and a small dog area that is fully fenced in. If it’s a rainy day, we can enjoy indoor activities such as throwing ball, hide and seek or whatever their favorite activity may be. If your dog enjoys working for a ball or treat, we can freshen up their obedience skills or attempt to learn some new tricks!
