Pet care experience
Aside from having pets since I was born, I've had a variety of professional experience taking care of pets with a range of temperaments. I've worked at an animal shelter, taking care of small dogs, those with special medical needs, and puppies. I've been an assistant manager of a PetSmart pet hotel, supervising the care of hundreds of dogs as well as cats. I've had experience handling a variety of dog breeds. I've also worked as a bather in a grooming salon. These positions, particularly bathing, require an ability to read where an animal is at and meet them there. I've had neighbors and family rely on me to help care for their pets. I am also a volunteer firefighter/EMT so I have quite a bit of training to be calm and methodical in stressful and emergency situations. On a personal note, I have a particular fondness for pitbulls, they have a special place in my heart, along with other breeds that are sometimes judged just based on their looks.

I have used Shannon several times to watch my 10 year old epileptic Brittany Spaniel. Shannon came over for a meet and greet with us in advance of her dog sitting - she stayed for an hour. She brought a notebook and took lots of notes. It's never easy leaving your dog (especially a high maintenance hunting breed and one with special needs) however Shannon put my mind to rest. She always sends a ton of pictures and updates me along the way as to how the days are going. She has been very communicative and responsible and follows directions to a T to keep him on schedule. I highly recommend Shannon if you are looking for a dog sitter for your baby. :)
Shannon is fantastic with pets, she has dog sat my dog and my parent's dog numerous times and we trust her with them completely. We also trust her with a key to our house to let the dog out, and she's a first responder at the local fire department. Our furry companions love her company and she cares for them like they were her own. She has pets herself and knows how to handle them as well as always be compassionate. I highly recommend Shannon to care for your pets!

A typical day
When it comes to activities, I like to follow the lead of each pet. If someone wants to snuggle or just have some time around a human, I'm good with that. If they want a more active day, we can do that too. I'd love to know what places your pet is used to playing and interacting with to start there.
