Experienced paw-rent working from home

Pet care experience

From dogs, fish, turtles to rabbits, I’ve always grown up with pets and feel a home is not a home without them. I am especially passionate about dogs and love spending time with them. My family believe I prefer spending time with the dogs than them! 😂 From always having at least one dog, raising two litter of puppies, caring for our golden oldies who require medication, caring for friends and neighbours pets and volunteering in my local vets when I was young, I’ve got a lot of experience with dogs of all ages, breeds and characters. A little bit about myself: I’m a 28 year old working in marketing for a global travel company. I live with my boyfriend and brother in our own flat in Putney Heath. I joined Rover as I missed my family Labrador, Belle, very much. I wanted to be in the company of dogs while also helping out fellow paw-rents as I know how stressful it is leaving your dog with someone you don’t know. We’ve since welcomed our own dog, Blue, who is a female golden retriever. She’s currently 17 months old and is extremely friendly and very well socialized with both young and old dogs (she goes to daycare when I’m in the office). We ourselves have had bad experiences with sitters so believe me, I know what it feels like and can assure you we would take care of your pet just as if it were our own. Our flat is right across the road from Putney Heath and we’re walking distance to Wimbledon Common, both great for walking dogs.

Shannon and Jamie were great dog sitters for our girl Leia. Shannon was very communicative and Leia seemed to enjoy herself during our day away. Would definitely recommend!

Shannon is amazing - we don't think our 14 year old dog Maxwell wanted to leave her! She cared for him for over two weeks, with lots of walks and tennis balls, and she shared photos and videos daily. He takes a number of pills and it was no issue for her at all. Highly recommend and Maxwell will certainly be back for a visit!

Shannon has looked after our puppy Copper twice and he’s really enjoyed himself! Would definitely recommend, thanks so much! X

Our flat is on the 1st floor (with elevator so great for senior dogs). We have plenty dog bowls and dog toys. We ensure one of us is home at all times when minding dogs so they’re never left unattended. I use Rover for our own dog so I totally appreciate how nervous it is leaving your dog with someone. That’s why I always want to meet and greet before hand. Plus it means our dogs can meet and ensure they get along 🙂

Home

Lives in an apartment
Has an unfenced yard

Information Shannon G. would like to know about your pet

Is any medication required or any known allergies /special diet requirements? Is the dog house trained? Is the dog neutered (helps us avoid taking an entire male when our dog is in heat)? How does your dog feel around other dogs? Is your dog allowed on furniture at home? If not, we’ll respect this to not cause confusion.

A typical day

We live right opposite Putney Heath which is perfect for walking the dogs. We usually bring our dog out for a short walk in the morning and lunch time, a longer walk in the evening after work and then again before going to bed. On weekends, we tend to go for a longer walk in Wimbledon common. However, when minding other dogs we adapt to whatever schedule/length of walks you usually have at home to minimise disruption.

Availability

We only take dogs when I’m working from home to ensure someone is home at all times. I work from home every Monday, Friday and one other day either Tue/Wed/Thur. However, my work can be flexible so depending on my schedule I might be able to work from home 4 or even 5 days a week. We have our own dog so walking is very much part of our daily schedule. I love receiving photos and videos of my pet while away so I’ll make sure to do the same for you 🙂
