Pet care experience
I am an educator living in the DuPont Circle/Adams Morgan area with over 12 years experience caring for dogs and cats (& over 6 years on Rover!) I have a 3 year old cat of my own, and I grew up with dogs and cats, so Rover helps me supplement my education job while doing something I love- hanging out with pets! I have experience with a wide range of pet needs (young-senior, nervous pets, administering meds, etc). I’m excited to meet you and your furry friends!

Shannon took care of my dog for several days this months and stayed at my apartment. She was extremely responsive, tidy, and took fantastic care of my dog. Deeply appreciate her help! I plan on asking her to stay again in the future.
Shannon was great from beginning to end! She was great with Georgie and with me as well as with my place. I will definitely ask Shannon to watch my dog again!!
Shannon was wonderful! Highly recommend! We had her stay at our place with our ~10 y/o Golden Retriever for a week. We did a meet and greet a couple weeks before and knew she was going to be great - she kept us updated, asked questions, and left our place better than we left it (cleaned, new bedsheets, laundry, etc). Most important of all, Bella was cared for and they had their own mini-vacation. Absolutely will book her again and recommend to others. Thank you!!

As a pet owner myself who also utilizes pet sitters, treating my clients’ pets and homes just like I would my own is something I take extremely seriously. I have also been responsible for multi-million dollar university facilities in my professional life working in higher education, so I am very responsible and don’t take that lightly!

I definitely like to know a bit about the dog’s personality and any quirks or even triggers before sitting for him/her- that’s why meet & greets are so important to me as as someone who will be caring for both your dog and your home (if applicable!). Every dog is different and I have experience with a wide gamut of behaviors, but it’s always good to get a feel for those ahead of time!
A typical day
I love walking in any and all parks with the dogs I care for, and I love play time with dog toys and fetch! I’m a big fan of dog parks especially, but long walks getting the energy out are also a favorite!

My schedule is very open June-late August (I’m off for the summer!), but late Sept-late May during the school year I am open *except* I cannot do midday care between 7:30 am-4:15 pm.
