All dogs/fur babies need love too!

Pet care experience

Contrary to what many people think, dog walking is a difficult job. It's not just about talking a dog out for a walk a few times a day; it is also about the huge responsibility associated with looking after a dog. Working as a dog walker, you need to know that I have an inherent love for all animals!! I also possess the physical strength to walk big dogs (you don’t want to be “walked” yourself!). Literally walking the dog is just one part of a dog walker’s job. While you are in the process of walking a dog, you will need to show love and affection in a bid to make dog owner comfortable with you. Nothing is more important than your lifelong companion!

Shana is one of the most kindhearted and compassionate people I know. She is extremely trustworthy. She absolutely LOVES animals and is an amazing caretaker. I would definitely recommend her to anyone.

There is no greater advocate and lover of animals than Shana. She would be an asset to any family looking to find care for their furry family members.

Shana is the biggest dog lover I know!!! She has two wonderful adoptees (Bea and Valentine) that she has welcomed into her family and could not love them more. Additionally, she has worked on behalf of dogs for years in many capacities--working on task forces, participating in rescues, and raising money for various rescue groups. She has worked closely with the MDSPCA, Baltimore Bully Crew, and many other groups. I have had the pleasure to work with her on many successful fundraisers, which she planned and put together completely on her own. She has most recently served on the Mayor's Anti-Animal Abuse Task Force. Shana is a loving and caring individual. Not only does she go above and beyond for the furry friends, but her empathy is spread to the human world as well. She is always there for any friend or family member who needs help, and was a Court Appointed Special Advocate for abused children. I cannot think of a more appropriate person to work with and care for pets. She would be a valued addition to any organization.

Information Shana C. would like to know about your pet

I will break down your profile information first to make sure we would be a perfect fit for each other. First of all thank you for choosing me to talk care of your fur baby! I try to do meet and and greets before so no anxiety for anyone. If I see that you just joined Rover. Welcome! There is a lot of information that I need to learn from your page that is crucial for us to make this work. The first thing you should do when making a profile page is upload a picture. A picture says a thousand words before even meeting him/her. What I am going to do here is break down a profile so that you can answer the questions that I would need to know before we even have the meet & greet. Here we go: I will place the questions next to the information provided on your page, so it is easy to see. Sex: Male/Female (When, where, and how long have you had your pup?) Age: ___years, ___mo. old (How do you know his/her age?) Weight: ___lbs (How do you know his/her weight?) Breed: ________ (No questions, except if you are unsure, or you say mutt.) Tracking Chip: Maybe (This should be a yes or no question. Your vet has a device that checks for chips.) Neutered: None (So he is a male, without being neutered, or female, without being spayed (which could be a bit harder if in heat)?) House Trained: Maybe (Even if you owned your pup one day you should know this answer.) Gets along with children: Maybe (Has a child ever approached to pet him/her? Or does he/she bark at them when he goes for a walk?) Gets along with other dogs: Maybe (Has he/she seen other dogs while walking in the past? Has he/she attempted to lunge forward towards other dogs? Or does he/she just keep walking? Neutering/Spraying sometimes helps with that a bit.) Gets along with cats: Maybe ( Do you own a cat? You would know in a matter of seconds. In your house, does he/she bark at things in your windows?) These are the questions I would need answered before the meet and greet. I would also need to know if he/she is up to date on his shots by sending his vet's name and address for safety reasons. I would also need to know what type of leash you use as well. I will not work with retractable leashes, they endanger the dog and myself. The most important question is, how does he/she get along with strangers? Let me know this information as soon as possible so we can see if this would be a perfect match! I love dogs and they seem to know it right away. I have a lot of experience working with these animals via task force and rescue experience and they seem to feel relaxed and comfortable when in my care, making this the perfect job for me. I know how to approach these animals in a way that is non-threatening to reduce their anxiety and to help them relax. I can help to maintain the routine they are used to, so they will not get anxious or feel so alone while their owners are away. I have extensive knowledge concerning the different breeds of dogs and I know how to take care of them properly. I understand that some breeds have special needs and that the age of the dog will play a major role in how to take care of them.

A typical day

I am very dependable and will always show up on time and according to the agreement made between the agency and the clients. I am trustworthy with a clean background and wonderful reference from the extensive volunteer work I have done in the past. I think this is an exciting and very rewarding job and I hope to become a part of your family soon.
