Hey there! Thanks for stopping on my profile :) My name is Shalayna Hoekstra and I have lived in Denver for ~1.5 years now. I've had and cared for a variety of different dog breeds throughout my life and have been a big dog lover for longer than I can remember. My boyfriend and I have been together since 2017 and moved to CO from Nashville! On April 20th, 2021 our lives would be forever changed because our Medium Sized Golden Doodle, Canio, was born! 8 short weeks later Canio became so much more than a pet, but instead our baby boy!!!! He’s the light of our lives and I would love to give him the opportunity to meet other pups in the area while helping out individuals in my community by providing a loving and caring dog sitting experience! Pets are treated as family members in our home. They are allowed on furniture, they can sleep with us, and we personally do not use/supply cages (unless otherwise directed by the owner; in this case please bring your own)

Shalayna was great with Graham while I was out of town for a week! She provided regular updates/photos and Graham seemed to get along great with Shalayna's dog. I would definitely rebook!
Shalayna was the absolute best! We just moved to Denver from North Carolina and I was so worried about finding a sitter for Millie. She was so used to staying w my family members so I was worried she’d be anxious in a new place. Shalayna made her feel at home & kept me updated the whole weekend! 10/10 recommend booking Shalayna asap! We will definitely be rebooking her soon!

I live in a sky rise apartment with an elevator! While there is no “yard” we have a large grass area/ dog spot directly across the street from our apartment. My dog typically goes out 4-5 times a day. He gets PLENTY of outdoor time and even more love!

Information Shalayna H. would like to know about your pet
My dog is healthy, fun, and loving! The only thing you have to worry about is him loving you and your animals too much ;) No health issues besides a little bit of anxiety when he’s not with mom & dad. He also is a bit of a leash puller, but makes up for it in every other way! On a day to day basis Canio is an angel and I look forward to him getting to know you (and your pet), as well!
A typical day
We have a small park right across the street from our apartment which we visit several times a day. When time permits we also love walking down the street to Jefferson Park! When we are at home we play, cuddle, eat, drink plenty of water, and get a few treats :)

Availability
I work from home full time. I start my work day at ~8:30 AM and end my day at ~5:30 PM. Throughout my day I have a 1 hour lunch along with a couple of breaks in the morning and the afternoon. During this time, we visit the dog area at the Church directly across the street from our leasing office. After work, I enjoy taking my own pup to Jeff Park along with coffee shops and pet friendly restaurants and bars in the area.
