I love pets big and small--less into birds but I am trying to keep an open mind-- and have lived with them my whole life. In addition to dogs and cats, I also have experience handling horses, goats, pigs, rodents, and snakes. My thoughts on dogs, specifically: I believe in the adage "A tired dog is a good dog," which I interpret to mean dogs are happiest when they are thoroughly engaged through exercise, play, socialization, and attention. I am a proponent of positive reinforcement over dominance theory when training but don't discredit the latter entirely. I am happy to walk, groom (to some extent), exercise, train or practice commands with your dog and have even trained my own dog Moose to run on a treadmill!
