Pet care experience
Seth - I grew up on my family's farm in NE Iowa where I fed and took care of dogs, cows, cats, horses since I was a child. I trained my dog when I was a 10 and won at the county fair's obedience show two years in a row; I have tamed dozens of kittens; bottle-fed calves, befriended stranger's pets that are otherwise wary of strangers; saved loose pets from getting hit (including a ferret in Washington DC). Bri - I grew up with the best Maine Coon and several wonderful dogs. I like learning each animal’s personality and idiosyncrasies. It’s also fun to have a furry guest when working remotely from home (I’m in PR). I’ve been surprised and enjoyed that pet sitting has allowed us to meet new people in our neighborhood - both the owners and others we met while walking dogs we’re boarding.

Dakota loved her stay with Seth and Bri! She was clearly very well taken care of and was whimpering when they left after they stopped by to drop off Kong toys that were left behind on accident. I received pictures from Seth everyday. I would definitely book him again.
Seth and Bree are amazing!! They took care of my 4 month old puppy and she had a great time. Walks, dog park, lots of hugs and kisses!! They sent me a lot of pictures throughout the week and let me know how things were going all the time. I will absolutely work with them again and again!
From our very first conversation I knew Seth would be the right person to watch my furry daughter while I was out of town. His empathy and care for animals show through his communication. I knew my kitty was in good hands and it made me not worry so much while away from her. She was on his lap and making biscuits so I know she was very well taken care of!

They will be in the home with us, roaming freely indoors. We will use a firm voice but gentle touch if they are being mischievous. Otherwise we will ensure their safety by keeping them on a leash when we are outside/on a walk. Some of this depends on the pet (their needs, personality, and behavior) and what the owner communicates is their preference.

A typical day
We like to take them on walks, sit in our shared back patio, or take them to a dog park (Horner, Wiggly, Hamlin). We have also bought several toys to play tug of war or fetch!

Availability
We moved to Chicago and both working hybrid schedules presently; so we are available for boarding most days. We’re active people that enjoy walking and running so taking regular breaks to walk or play with someone's pet would be most welcome. The only potential challenge I presently have with in-home pet care is that in late July 2021 we adopted two kittens from my family's farm (that Seth saved from dying of hypothermia the day they were born). After a year of boarding both cats and dogs they are pretty good meeting new friends and we have a pet gate to partition our 2-bedroom in half so both parties can safely get acquainted.
