No Females in Heat
Luke and Leia had their first day care visit with Selim and Vicki. They took great care of my pups. Luke and Leia were passed out as soon as they got home from all the fun they had at their house. Selim sent lots of detailed updates and pictures. Pups are excited for their next visit.
Selim and his wife are such gentle loving souls. They obviously adore dogs and do a fantastic job caring for them. Our two Border Collies were there for their first time and they obviously felt very comfortable and loved there. When we picked them up, they weren't even that anxious to see us. That says a lot for the great care and attention they received.
Heidi had the best stay! Selim sent photos to document a fun day - lots of fetch, pool party, and walks. She was definitely tired at the end of the day. Selim is a communicative, kind and compassionate person. Highly recommend him for all day care!
Full-Time Dog Lover in Granite Bay
I am semi-retired (outside of volunteering), and I have lots of time and energy to love and care for your dog.
Full disclosure: I'm pretty much known as an over-the-top dog nut, and I love all kinds of dogs, big or small, quiet or rowdy, outgoing or shy. I love the challenge of walking the OCD leash pullers, getting on the floor with the big goofy knuckleheads, petting the couch potatoes on our leather couch ...
What Selim would like to know about your dog
I do not have any breed preferences, I love all kinds of dogs! But since I have two Goldens at home and occasionally other guests, reactive or overly fearful dogs may not be the best fit since I don't like to isolate the dogs (except during feeding) or risk their safety. I know the difference between active appropriate dog pack play and aggressive behavior. Friendly dog play is healthy for dog's development, exercise, and socialization, and it doesn't faze me. I have occasionally made special accommodations for reactive dogs when I have no other guests, but I prefer not to separate the dogs if possible.
I'd like to know what your dog is like at home and what activities and routines s/he enjoys. I'd like to know what type of play your dog likes, and if s/he has a special spot for pets, i.e. belly rubs, or that special spot behind the ears. Tell me about the dogs potty break routines, how you correct your dog, and what treats s/he enjoys. Tell me if you trust your dog off leash i.e. at the lake and whether s/he likes to swim.
Tell me about how your dog acts when s/he is away from home, either boarding, on the street, or at the park. I'll need to know what special needs that may have and medicines they take, special food/snacks, etc. Have they demonstrated any dog reactivity or separation anxiety in the past? Does s/he sleep through the night or have persistent barking issues? Knowing any triggers is essential for their well-being and our peace of mind.
