Pet care experience

Hey, I'm Skelly, one of the top sitters in the Boulder/Denver area. Check out my reviews ro see what folks have to say about me. :-) I keep my rates as low as possible to ensure my services are accessible to everyone who needs them. For those who value the extra mile I go in my work, tips are warmly welcomed as a token of appreciation. Thank you for your support! With a decade of experience under my belt, from sitting to training and even founding a pet tech startup, I'm comfortable with all breeds, behaviours and challenges. Often available last minute, I’m here to ensure your pups get the best care possible while you're away. My approach? I match my care to your dog's unique personality and needs. As soon as I roll in, I start to bond with you pup(s) and get a feel for their energy and habits. Whether your dog craves high-energy outdoor adventures or prefers cozy snuggles on the couch, I've got it covered. My aim is to provide a perfect balance of exercise fun and on-the-couch relaxation, suited to each individual pup's style. I send regular photo and video updates, so you'll always feel connected and assured that your pet is doing great! I have several repeat customers on Rover, and many more offline. Whatever your situation, drop me a line and if I’m available I’m sure we can make it happen. ** That said, if you do reach out to me for care, all I ask is you give me a chance to reply before contacting other sitters. I understand your needs might be urgent and/or stressful, so I assure you, if my profile shows as available for your request and you drop me a message, I’ll get back to you within 2 hours tops (unless super early in the morning). I’ll either be able to help you out or let you know asap that I can’t. Thank you! ** Catch you soon, Skelly ps. ever wanted to learn how to run your dog next to your bike or longboard for a super efficient workout? Lmk and we can add that to your booking either on the front or back end. :-)

Let me start by saying that though my pup Olive is a sweetheart she is not an easy one to care for as she has pretty intense leash reactivity. Skelly was able to take this on and provide her new experiences such as taking her along for long boarding rides which the videos brought me such joy. On top of this, Olive had unfortunately been battling some unexpected health issues before leaving and Skelly was able to take on this added challenge and provide such good care for her and give me ease while being out of the country. Highly recommend!

Skelly is wonderful. He seemed to enjoy the dogs and enjoy getting to know them. He walked them every day which they loved. He took good care of our home as well. We will definitely use him again.

Safety, trust & environment

I keep a calm and consistent presence with all dogs, using my breath and energy to communicate rather than verbal commands. I dissuade barking, jumping, anxious behavior, etc. by not letting it build up and take over the dog’s focus. With proper excercise, most dogs are then pretty chill at home. If they are still showing signs of anxiety, I’ll usually take them out again to shake it off and 9/10 times it resolves itself so they can relax and not feel on guard all day.

Information Sean K. would like to know about your pet

Main things I’d like to know are, where do you keep the food and treats, what medicines do they take (if any), and whats the coffee situation like in your house?! :-) Other than that, we’ll generally figure it out as we go.

A typical day

I’m not an early riser, so most days start around 10 am heading out for a nice long bike ride, longboard cruise or dog park sesh. From there we’ll head back home, spill into our favorite spots and bask in the beautiful boulder sunshine. Depending on energy levels, we’ll work in another active session in the afternoon/ evening, or simply keep to potty breaks if they are already well worn out, making sure they get out one final time just before bed. I choose activities appropriate for the individual dog. If they are super social, we’ll prob do more park time. If they prefer solo adventures, we’ll rock the longboard or maybe a hike. If they are getting older or are less mobile, we’ll stick to more casual strolls around the neighborhood. Long story short, whatever your dog likes best, I’ll pick it up quickly and serve it up in spades! Ps, thats my girl Lala in the picture, who just absolutely loved to jump at a stick, over and over again, eventually finding these cools spins and other moves. She’s no longer around but damn did we have some good adventures.
