Certified CGC Evaluator

Pet care experience

Howdy! I've always been surrounded by some combination of cats, dogs, lizards and some kind of small mammals. Since childhood I have been caring for family and friend's pets so it was only natural that I do so professionally as an adult. I am incredibly lucky to get to do what I love for a living and help so many people. My professional career with dogs started in rescue, at a no kill shelter in Odessa. Since then I have opened a dog training and pet care business, Standard Pet Care, and served over 500 humans and their canine companions. We title dogs in obedience through the AKC, and help clients achieve therapy dog designations for work in hospitals and rehabilitation. I am also a Certified AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. When caring for your pets, safety and consistency are my top priorities. As a standard protocol I will not let random people and dogs approach your pets. I will also work with you to maintain any good behaviors you have created with your dog, and if interested offer suggestions and help to build lasting good habits in your companion. Ensuring that you have complete peace of mind when leaving your pet in my care is of the utmost importance to me. I have experience working with elderly dogs, dogs with severe medical conditions, and dogs that have bitten other dogs and humans. Although they are back in Virginia with my girlfriend, I have a Boerboel, a Rhodesian Ridgeback, and a Pitbull, so I am familiar with large and powerful breeds. On top of that I have titled dogs of all shapes, sizes, and breeds. I am comfortable working with any dog. If I am pet sitting at your home, I will treat your home as if it was my own (to be honest I will treat it better than that).

Scott does awesome with my pup! I was nervous about having someone walk him, he’s a big boy (80lbs) who likes to pull. But Scott has him walking perfect, and calm right next to him! I get a bunch of pics of the walk as well. Scott has been very reliable and easy to work with.
