reliable and caring

Pet care experience

Until fairly recently I have lived in a home with dog roommates and would always be willing to care for them when their human had to be away. I really just enjoy being around animals and taking my dog nephew for walks as much as I can. I even seem to find myself looking after animals when I go on vacation. Last summer I house sat for a cat in NYC, and currently house sit a friends cat when they are out of town.

I have left my cat with Scott many times and I’ve always been impressed with how well he takes care of my pet. He is extremely good with animals and I never had to worry about my cat not getting enough love and pets from Scott. I highly recommend Scott for a pet sitter.

Safety, trust & environment

I currently am not able to have the animals stay with me due to being in a small apartment, but I will be more than happy to visit and/or stay with the animals. With dogs I will always ask about their habits, where they like to walk, favorite chew toys, etc. For cats I will make sure to keep them active by chasing around strings or other toys. I am also more than happy to give cats and dogs a nice brushing if that is needed as well. I will also mention that if you ask me to stay and house sit I will promise to keep the place clean, wash my dishes, and only eat my own food. Ideally you may have trouble knowing anyone was ever in the home.

Information Scott N. would like to know about your pet

I would ask for vet information and what do "just in case" something happens. Besides the logistical stuff I'd want to know how much they like meeting other dogs on walks or not? Are the dogs shy around people, or just happy to meet anyone new? The last thing I can think of is how much trouble can they get into? Do I need to hide my shoes or not turn my back on any food I may be eating?

A typical day

That really depends what you and the dog would like me to do. I am open for long hikes in the woods, long or short walks in the neighborhood, playing in snow, etc. If there is any training to work on please let me know how I can continue reinforcing that while you are gone. I want to make sure I use the correct word (ex: stop or no if they need to bark less).
