My (five) cats have been left alone for a few days previously while I've been gone for work, and been checked on by friends if I've been gone longer, and have not had issues like this previously. Over a week after the visits and several of them still run to hide in our back bedroom closets anytime an outside door opens. To be fair, this was the longest I've been away from the cats, I don't have children yet, and I've been a pet sitter in the past. All that to say I had pretty specific and high expectations, so please take this review with that in mind. Many details come from cameras I had on the cats water and food, which Scarlett was aware of, and I can't imagine how this would've gone without those. -Despite asking verbally and in writing for quiet for the cats, and being assured that could happen, each of the first three visits (until I explicitly asked for Scarlett to come alone) had a different extra person in our home making different loud noises. In the second visit an adult even knocked on and kicked things around our home, I assume to scare the cats out of hiding. -Visits did not happen at requested times (and the first was cut 20 min short). This would've been alright except there was never any discussion of the change or notification she would need to go later (aside from the second visit in which I reached out and she responded she was waiting until her partner got home so he could watch the kids and she could go alone. Then she brought the person mentioned above). I repeatedly worried over and had to check in and see if the visit would happen at all (even near 9 at night). -I scheduled extra time and extra visits so she would have plenty of time to socialize with the cats as well as water the plants on one visit toward the middle of the booking. The first three visits the cats all hid from her extra guests and couldn't get attention at all, and I don't think the plant watering happened as we returned to some dry and dead plants. To her credit, I did ask for more attention to be given to the cats, but considering they wouldn't come to her until the last few visits (after she'd come alone and quietly a couple of times as requested), and watering plants is a quiet act they're used to, I would think a single watering should've been doable. -Cans of wet cat food I asked to be washed out before being put in our indoor recycling didn't seem to be washed. In addition, a towel that was soaked by a gravity waterer was left soaking wet on the floor (I know she knew about this because she commented on it but for some reason didn't move it) until I explicitly asked for it to be changed out. It was then left in a wet ball in our sink to mildew. We returned to quite the smell and cleaning to do, I'm surprised it wasn't noticeable and that she didn't feel the need to do anything about it or mention it. There are several other things, mainly cleanliness related, but these were the most concerning/troubling. Scarlett seemed very polite and did all the things I explicitly asked for in texts, including trying hard to socialize with the cats once she started coming alone. It just wasn't all of what was discussed or written in the itinerary, or what I expected. The cats are all alive and reacclimating, but this was a really bad fit and I never would've guessed it from the intro meeting. Don't think we'll use this service again without some serious changes.

Scarlett was a wonderful sitter! She was flexible, and easy to communicate with. I felt very comfortable leaving our fur babies with her. She successfully administered medication and our babies clearly had a great time with her. She picked up our mail and kept our house clean. Will definitely use this sitter again!
