Active Dog Lover Home Full Time!

Pet care experience

A lot of time on my hands plus a lot of heart for dogs equals a first-rate Rover sitter for you! I absolutely adore animals, and want to take advantage of this rare period in my life when I have an open schedule to provide the best possible care for pets while their owners are away. By offering my services, I can contribute to my community and form deeper bonds with both people and dogs. Dogs with special needs are my specialty. I have fostered several blind dogs in the past, and have been a regular pet sitter for older dogs needing assistance moving around and exercising due to health concerns. I also have a lot of experience with pit bulls who are rescued from violent upbringings and have retrained these loving animals. Although I wasn’t trained professionally, I research as I come to new situations and breeds so I can provide them the best possible care. I’m fortunate to have a helping hand with my dog-sitting. My fiancé Brian is returning from deployment, and he has sat for his military friends’ pets for years. Both of us have raised dogs since childhood, and rescued our adorable Husky, Fritz. Brian will most likely accompany me as your dog and I go for evening walks. My neighborhood has so many dogs that many residents keep a little doggy bag dispenser on their trees so that we can all help each other out in times of need! Our yard is surrounded by trees with a big open space in the middle that is perfect for throwing balls and playing around. We also have a large shaded deck for mid-day play when it is too hot for the dogs to be out in the sun. We don’t have any dog parks in the neighborhood, but I frequent the dog parks in South Park and in Balboa Park—if it’s okay with you, I’ll gladly take your dog to these parks. I pride myself in my adaptability. I’ve lived around the world and have worked in many environments. When dog-sitting, I do whatever I can to adapt my schedule to your dog’s needs and interests. I’ll do the same for you—for instance, if you want several updates each day, I am happy to do so, but if you just wanted to be contacted in case of an emergency, then that’s what I’ll do! Fritz and I are so excited to see you, his tail is wagging as I type this! Contact me today!

Savannah was excellent with our doggie Jackson! Walks, eat, sleep, all a dog loves to do! Thanks Savannah!

Savannah was very accommodating to our changed vacation plans and our pup had a wonderful time with her. So pleased to have Savannah as our “go to” for dog sitting needs!

Savannah did a wonderful job watching my dog at my house for couple days, while I was out of town. I returned home to a happy pup! We will definitely be using Savannah again.

Savannah was a great sitter for Brodie. She gave him lots of love, walks, play and a really relaxed time. We will definitely use her again!

Information Savannah D. would like to know about your pet

I like to know about any tendencies towards aggression with other people or animals, the dog/family's typical daily routine and simply what you would desire an exceptional dog-sitter to do with them so that I can do exactly that while you are away.

A typical day

I’m willing to do what you your dog needs, though typically, this is my routine with Fritz: After breakfast, we hit the trails—our favorite spots are Lake Murray and Mission Bay Park. I spend the rest of the morning completing homework from home, so we can take a walk or play in the yard every 3 hours. In the evening, Fritz and I go for a job, but if your dog isn’t a jogger, we can chill at home. I only sleep for about six hours a night, and I walk the dogs right before bed and right when I wake. I enjoy walks (or runs if you have a high energy dog!) at Mission Bay Park, Sunset Cliffs and anywhere down by the coast where the dogs can stay cool! I also live in a very nice neighborhood off Fairmont ave where there is plenty of shade and hilly trails to use. When I dog sit I commit to one "outing" per day (unless the owner is not comfortable with this) where the dog will get a good workout in at a park or beach where it is cool and then will still to walks around my neighborhood as often as desired by the owners throughout the remainder of the day.
