My experience with animals started before I was old enough to even remember. I grew up with a golden basset mix named Maxwell all the way into my 20’s. As he got older (upwards to 15-16), he required more attention and surveillance. This included timeliness of medication, continence care, and senior dental care. We gave him the most exciting life we possibly could! —Always traveling, hiking, and many car rides. He was a brother to me. Since his passing, I’ve adopted Beamer (Blue Catahoula Leopard Dog) and he is featured in my profile photo. All of my friends know he is my life-line and I strive daily to keep him healthy and live the longest life. My mom has also since adopted a 5-year-old shelter pup named Bentley (Yellow Labrador/Basset mix). When we found out that he was on the verge of being euthanized that week, we immediately drove 3 hours to adopt him. He was a huge learning curve for us.... as a warm loving home was just as hard for him to understand. Since he was in the shelter for so long, we had to work with socializing him a lot! Today, Beamer and Bentley are the epitome of best friends. You could say I have a variety of experiences that make me fit for most dogs. I also spent many hours volunteering at the Washington County Animal Shelter throughout my undergraduate degree at ETSU. Big dogs, small dogs, all in-between! Your animals and home will be treated as if they were my own: with respect and love. I am very comfortable administering medications and senior care during my visits. My mother taught me many things over the years from her work as a licensed veterinary technician. I do not currently offer services in my own home. I will treat your home and pets as if they were my own. I am more than happy to venture out to local parks for walks as well.
