I grew up on a farm caring for all types of animals from emus to bunnies. Now as an adult my husband and I have 4 wonderful rescue dogs. Maddie is our only girl and she definitely rules the roost! We believe she has some type of herding dog in her as she herds her brothers by nipping at their heels!Trae is our oldest lab mix and is scared of just about everything so I have grown accustomed to holding an 80 lb lab during storms or when the smoke alarm accidentally goes off. Packer is our 4 year old lab mix and is the sweetest most well mannered dog, he has a rare birth defect with his knees and has undergone two separate surgeries to correct them so I have also gained experience in dealing with animals that have special needs and/or are injured. Lambeau is our biggest baby who is a 160lb great dane but sometimes confuses himself with a chihuahua. He is very protective of his family and has taught me to become accustomed to dogs that are a little more leery of people coming into their homes and how a sweet voice, a few treats, and several home visits before hand with their owners helps a ton. I walk all four of our pups two miles daily (rain or shine) and we work on commands during our walks and am a firm believer in gentle leaders so that even the worst pullers can enjoy a walk with their family! Our fur babies are a big part of our family and I believe every animal should be treated as well as we treat ourselves. Times for our fur babies are hard when their humans are away so it will be my goal to make sure your animals keep their routine and are well loved on while you are away or if we are just out for a walk.
