As a child, my first pet was a hamster, which later turned into a family of 6 but we had to give them away when the babies grew up. I spent a summer with my father’s side of the family in Ecuador where they had a dog. I instantly fell in love with him. While there, I also had pet chickens. I was the happiest kid alive. Years later, my aunt persuaded my father into getting a dog. Boby, our Bichon Frise, lives with my parents but I visit him every day after work so that he knows I still care about him. A month ago, my father rescued a stray kitten who was on the verge of death. With much love and care, our kitten Gina is now jumping around trolling Boby with so much energy as her eye is slowly healing. Dogs and cats are more than pets, they are family. Their eyes speak a thousand words, their kisses wash your problems away and their hugs fill your heart with love. My life goal is to become a foster mom for dogs and cats and rescue those in dire need of help.
