If only the Baha Men knew about me!
Pet care experience
So if you're reading this, hopefully my headline made sense to you, if not, it's a reference to the baha men's classic song "Who let the dogs out?" :) I've been around dogs my entire life. I have never had a time actually where a dog didn't live with me! I am especially familiar with high energy dogs (aussies, blue heelers, border collies) so your dog will think it's Christmas when I'm sitting because we'll be having all the fun. I'm good at taking care of multiple dogs at one time as well, I've been caring for two of my own for the past 7 years. I have experience with senior dogs; before my sweet boy Max passed away, he had hip dysplasia and we sewed him a special holder on his back so we could help him up stairs and he could move without pain. I also have experience with very shy, skiddish/timid dogs. My blue heeler, Bruiser gets separation anxiety and has strange fears and I'm very good at calming him and making sure he's comfortable! I can send you updates and pictures of your fur baby while you're away so it makes the separation easier! I don't want to brag but I get the best pet pictures. Partly because I'm constantly taking them. I mean beauty MUST be captured right?? I'm very safety-oriented when walking dogs and when other dogs approach. I recently had an experience where an unleashed dog ran up to my client's dog while I was giving him a walk and the unleashed dog became very aggressive and tried to attack the dog I had. I put myself between them and had no problem ensuring the one I was caring for didn't come into any harm (shouting "No!" at the top of my lungs and keeping a very tight and short grip on my dog's leash was essential) and just continuing to knee the aggressive dog away while shielding the one in my care. Eventually the stray dog's owner ran up and apologized. You have to be prepared for those moments (god forbid anything bad every happens) but I am confident in my ability to protect your dog. I'm also very good at distracting dogs when they get nervous around others; I recently was dog sitting for a dog who had had trauma growing up and she was terrified of other dogs when we were out on walks; she became a totally different dog and very very aggressive, so I knew I had to distract her and immediately avoid the dog in sight; we'd cross the street and I'd use the treats in my pocket as the perfect distraction and way for her to calm down. I have a part time job right now so my availability is extremely open. I'm also self employed as a professional jazz saxophone player (my dogs are fascinated every time I practice; I have videos of one howling along with me playing it's hilarious) and those hours are very flexible. Also, I recently moved (my address on my profile is current, however, I am not living with any dogs! My dog Cleo and my mother's dog Bruiser are best buds and did not want to be separated so they are living with my parents together :) I'm a flexible person in general so I'm sure we can make whatever you need work! Thanks for taking the time to read my profile.

Sarah S. cancelled a booking 1 day before it was scheduled to begin.
Sarah was great! We had her stay in our home while we were away and she watched our dogs. She did a wonderful job taking care of them and our home while we were away! She’s great with dogs and we really appreciated how communicative she was with us while we were away. We’d highly recommend her!
She is a legend. She's is an icon. She is the moment. Seriously, I cannot speak more highly of Sarah. I received daily, if not, multiple pictures a day of my dogs. They received so much love in attention that I just know they were not stressed at all while my husband and I were gone. She was the absolute best at communication and frequently checks in if you need that. Also, she left my house spotless. I could not even tell you that someone spent time in my home with my dogs. I will definitely be booking her for the rest of our lives in St. Louis.
Sarah was delightful to work with. She was flexible, quick to respond, easy to

Safety, trust & environment
I have a beautiful large fenced-in backyard. I only let pets chew on safe toys, I never leave anything tempting within reach of an animal, whether it be peanut butter sandwiches, a sock, a pile of napkins—none of it is in reach! I also always close my bathroom door. I have lids on all my trash cans.

Information Sarah S. would like to know about your pet
I'd love to just know their personality and their tendencies. If there's anything I should avoid doing (like letting children pet them or sniffing other dogs if we're out on a walk) and if they have any injuries I should be aware of (like hip dysplasia) or if there's any separation anxiety. Just a heads up for anything you think might be worrisome so I can plan for it and make your dog super happy and safe! That's the number one priority.
A typical day
Around your neighborhood or to a dog park! I live near a TON of dog parks (Tower Grove, Shaw Area, North Hampton). I love taking dogs to parks and man, what smells they find! Haha! Super exciting for them!! Playing fetch is also a go-to game.

Availability
I work from home, so I have plenty of time to watch the pets you entrust me to take care of! I have a very flexible schedule, not just location-wise, but when I schedule myself to work. I have my one dog, Blue at home. She’s the only dog that lives with me. (The other two I have listed on my profile live with my parents’ as they are family dogs. I couldn’t not list them too, haha!) Blue is a very sweet dog and gets along with everyone. When I’m out for a bit, she’s able to relax in her crate when she wants to (I leave the door open and she just goes in when she feels like it; that’s her safe-space) and all dogs should have a space they can go to to ease their worries!
