Pet care experience
I have had dogs all my life (40+ years) until last year when our 12 year old Finny passed away. Our household LOVES our pups, but aren't ready to commit to adopting right now (in about 3 years we'll be doing some extensive traveling and want to wait until we return before adopting again). I have pet-sat for neighbors and friends, volunteered with shelter dogs and ran my own non-profit cat rescue for 10 years. My love for animals really knows no bounds. Each animal has such a unique personality and I really delight in getting to know them and their quirks. My life is enriched from their love, and it fills my 'bucket' to make them happy. I especially enjoy caring for senior animals; pampering them to make them as comfortable as possible.

We have a two level, quiet home that your pet can explore as they wish. I can crate your pet if that's their routine, but free-roaming the house is totally acceptable. At night, your pup will join me in our guest bedroom -- they are welcome to sleep with me on the bed, in their bed, or crated if that's their routine. Safety is ALWAYS a top priority. Your pet would not leave the front door without being on-leash and securely in my care. My days are such that your pup would never be alone (unless that's what they choose).

Please let me know what makes your pup happy or anxious. Nothing is too small or insignificant. If your dog really enjoys getting a pup cup at Starbucks then we'll make sure to add that to their routine here. If they are known for chewing on things they shouldn't, or just can't resist certain things they shouldn't do, then we'll put any necessary precautions in place to ensure a safe stay with us. If your little one is prone to tummy trouble please let us know. Knowing your vet's information and agreeing on emergency care is important. Letting me know what type of updates you'd like to receive -- daily recap; text photo every few hours -- happy to accommodate the level of check-in that will assure you that all is going well.
A typical day
Dog parks, enrichment toys/puzzles, hiking trails, backyard fun with toys and running around, even swimming in our pool (if your dog likes the water)... we'll be certain to accommodate whatever we can so your pup is happy and healthy (including sending you "selfies" of the fun they are having). All enrichment toys are sanitized after each visit. We use Merrick Power Bites treats in the toys (Grain Free + Gluten Free) -- see image and ingredients list in my profile pictures. If you prefer that we use treats your dog is used to, please bring extra when you drop off and we'll use those inside the toys instead. :)

I work full-time from home and have a large, fully fenced backyard. I can spend time working outside while your pet explores, we can sit in the grass and play; toss toys around and play fetch, take time for belly scratches or just sit on the floor and hang out while they rest.
