Animals are better than most humans
Pet care experience
I’ve grown up on a farm majority of my life. I have been around many animals and I’ve been caring for them since I was young. I also have cared for friends and families pets when needed too!

I trusted this sitter to follow instructions and take care of my dog while I traveled and that trust was broken when I received a photo of his neck and a nasty infection from her having his e-collar too tight, and leaving it on him for his entire trip of 6 days. I booked 7 days total, but after seeing the image of the night of the 5th I came home to get my dog. She claimed water got behind the e-collar and that caused the sore, and that she had taken it off every day. All clearly lies. I asked her to clean the wound and remove his e-collar the rest of the time. When I picked him up the wound was not cleaned, it was infected. Yellow oozing from the skin and hard fur in the area. She claimed she used peroxide on it, but it showed no signs of being cleaned. I cleaned it and the fur all fell out. The skin was warm, raw, red, and has thickened from irritation. In the shape of is e-collar. Instructions were to leave it very loose while he was inside and it could be tightened when it was outside leaving the space for two fingers. When it was back inside it should have been loosened and when it was the end of the day and he was no longer going to be going out it was to be removed and plugged in. None of which were followed. I took photos of the whole process of me cleaning the wound, and of the e-collar that was blinking red from not ever being charged. The remote was on 58 when I saw it in the bag, which I said never to turn up unless there’s an emergency(an emergency would be the dog ran out the street and is at risk of getting hit by a car) I never once said turn it that high. The remote was set to zero when I left. My dog is trained, so there’s absolutely no need to have it on anything higher than zero unless it’s an emergency, he responds to vibrate if you need, but it’s not necessary because voice works and I gave her all these instructions. All I got was lies and excuses for neglecting and abusing my dog. I wouldn’t have written this review had she just been honest and said she messed up and left it on him the whole time, but she just kept lying. She did give money for the vet bill, however the trauma my dog may have for trusting I sent him to a good sitter is not going to be covered by a vet. That will have to go with training that I will need to do. I have no idea if they were just shocking him, and I will never send him with his e-collar to a sitter again. There are 189 photos of my dog on rover with various sitters all whom managed to follow the same directions and not one of them sent my dog back with this damage to his skin and neck. His entire neck has welts from the e-collar being so tight. I am having to keep his collars off in hopes his skin recovers, and I am hoping his fur comes back. Beware of sitters who have limited reviews! I hope this review helps someone! There’s no need to lie if you did something. Lying only means you’re not trustworthy.
Sarah was very flexible with our trip schedule being uncertain, we were able to have her meet our dog at her home the day we set up boarding and take him in the next day. She sent us several photos and videos, made our first time boarding my baby easier on us.
Sarah was so dependable and responsible. Took great care of my poodles for a week, one who is a senior with lots of extra care. Highly recommend!
