Hey everyone! I have extensive experience caring for animals, and I'm excited to apply these skills towards creating a safe and loving space for your pets while you're away! To start, I spent last summer working with an animal behaviorist and psychologist from the Dian Fossey Foundation. Thanks to this opportunity, I developed a keen understanding of animal psychology and behavior that I look forward to using to create a safe space for your four-legged friends. I also grew up taking care of A LOT of rescue pets. I'm the daughter of two animal lovers, and I spent most of my childhood volunteering at animal shelters, baking dog-safe cookies for fundraisers, and helping shelters find foster homes. Currently, I'm the owner of three goofy rescue dogs and one mischievous cat. I have experience caring for puppies and potty training them. I also have extensive experience caring for senior dogs including providing eye drops, finding creative ways to get your pup to swallow pills, brushing teeth, adhering to special diets, and maintaining consistent schedules for elderly dogs. I spent the pandemic caring for my 19 year old shih tzu, Gizmo. Gizmo had numerous health problems including no tear production (that required twice daily eye drops), congestive heart failure (that required four pills twice a day), seasonal allergies, eczema (that required daily, medicated baths), and Alzheimers. Due to Alzheimers, Gizmo had difficulties understanding where she was and would often defecate in her bed or indoors. Unfortunately, Gizmo passed away earlier this year, but I have a unique understanding of pets' needs during end of life, palliative care that I will apply to your own pets. I can't wait to meet your dog soon!
