Sarah and Lexi have been caring for animals their whole lives! Lexi grew up on a dairy farm, and family owned the nation's largest trail-riding stations, and Sarah is a behavioral neuroscientist at UMN. We have experienced it all- from raising and training an 8-week puppy, to caring for our dog through her cancer treatment. We have a strong personal belief that all animals are worth love and respect, and we approach each animal by listening and observing their needs first and working with their individual preferences. After adopting our first rescue dog, our dear Delilah-Daisy, in 2019 and caring for her through cancer treatment and her dog anxiety, we know the value and importance of working with each animal's personal needs. We have a current household caring for 3 cats and a pocket-pittie puppy. We have been a go-to pet sitter for friends for the last 2 years, since we put pet needs first and love playing and walking with dogs! We both also have personal experience administering medicine to cats and dogs, house training a puppy, and working with a variety of behaviors including dog aggression, resource guarding, anxiety, and house accidents. Lexi also work from home, and we are available on holidays! Let us be your dog’s home away from home <3 We currently work from home with a fenced in back yard, and believe in reliable routines for all animals! I start the day off with mealtime and outdoor potty breaks and play time, followed by social enrichment at my lunch break and at the end of the work day. I include one walk or dog park visit a day, to allow for full mental and physical exercise! Since I work from home, I am able to adapt to additional scheduling needs, such as strict medicine schedules and more frequent potty breaks throughout the day. I put the needs of my animals first, and work my flexible schedule around that! My pets are my first priority, and I have structured my home environment with animals in mind. I have a fenced backyard, live within short travel distance of several dog parks and lakes, and have a very sociable puppy to keep dogs engaged! For more sensitive dogs, I have a gated quiet room up in the study for less busy environments. I am also comfortable with dogs on the furniture, and have made my house dog and cat proof to prevent any injuries or safety concerns.
