Certified Vet Assistant

My availability ranges but I will remain as flexable as possible. Communication is key! I sucessfully completed the vet assistant program at Pickens Tech in 2013. Comfortable with medication administration and caring for other pets you may have (other small mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians). I've decided to pursue a career in accounting so this is a great way to pay off student loans while putting my skills to use. If over night care is ...

What Sarah would like to know about your dog

I like to know as much information about a client as possible, preferably written down to have on hand. There are general things I feel that are important such as your dogs behavior with other animals, things that may make them aggressive or anxious, and their physical limitations (i.e. can only walk a certain pace). If they have a favorite toy or game. Dietary restrictions. Medical conditions or allergies. Any training or specific routines to follow. As well as any other bits of information that may be helpful to make their experience the best. In case of emergencies I would like emergency contact information and their vet contact information. Finally, I require proof of vaccinations either by tags or paper work provided by the vet.

When Sarah watches your pet

I like to base our walks off of your dog's needs. If they are older, tire easy, or have special needs I tend to stick close to home and let them enjoy the sights and smells. With my more energetic clients I would ideally like to take them to a park or open space so they can run freely until their heart's content - or until it is time to go home, which ever comes first. During this time, I will also implement any type of training you are doing with your dog to keep them consistent. I highly encourage suggestions on routes to take, local parks to visit, and toys to bring. Water and treats will be kept on hand at all times so please be sure to include any dietary restrictions.
