Your Pets, My Privilege

Pet care experience

My Pet-Sitting Mission: If no one has ever told you (or worse, they’ve even made you feel bad for it), please know that it is completely okay to be nervous about leaving your pet. But there is no reason that you should have to keep feeling that way. Every pet owner should be able to leave knowing their pet will be well taken care of and loved while they are away. So, take a look at my profile and see if I can be the person to make that happen for you! I have a lot of experience working with dogs and am also comfortable watching cats and most small mammals, reptiles, and amphibians. To offer the best service possible, I make a point to walk into every situation with foundational knowledge of your pet’s breed/species, but more importantly I understand that every animal is unique. Therefore, I would love to get to know you and your pet as individuals to provide the positive, personalized care your family deserves! I always try to work with whatever schedule, care, and training that your pet is used to, to minimize any stress they might feel while you're away. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask! About me: Hi I’m Sarah! A dog-lover who wants to turn my passion into a life-long calling. I have completed a BA in Psychology and am entering my second year in getting my Masters in Social Work at UTK this fall, moving another step closer to fulfill my dream of improving the welfare of this world through the human-canine bond. I’ve grown up with wonderful dogs—in the past my family has had a spitz-cocker spaniel mix and a black lab with a hint of great dane in him, and a yorkie and currently we have a bichon frise and a lab-mix that my parents recently adopted. Besides dogs I’ve had a guinea pig, hamsters, and fish; and I currently have a red ear slider turtle. Outside of my own pet experience, I have, and continue to, volunteer and foster for animal shelters. Professionally, I spent two years working at a veterinary office as a kennel assistant and doggie day-care group leader. In addition, I have served as a Kennel Technician at a local animal shelter. All of these experiences have, and continue to, prepare me to work with dogs of different sizes, ages, energy levels, and temperaments. And working with dogs, and animals in general, is something I absolutely adore doing! While I’m at college, my own dogs are with my family (out-of-state), and since I'm not able to be with my own pets, it would be my absolute pleasure and privilege to take care of yours. Once again, if you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to reach out to me!
