Dog lover in need of walking buddy!

Pet care experience

I’ve owned dogs most of my life, but recent life transitions have left me dogless. I’m not ready to have a full time new family member yet, but thought my love of dogs and walking could be helpful to others. I regularly walk the Back Cove and am happy to do long or short walks. I’m also good at (and looking forward to) basic training with your pup! I do have a six year old with me part time, but he is super comfortable with animals. I work from home for the foreseeable future and have a flexible schedule. I own my own condo and welcome your pup to stay with me! I have space for a crate if needed and am happy to accommodate your your dogs needs!

Sarah is the best!! We always appreciate that our dog comes home well loved and tired. She’s very communicative and I always feel comfortable that our dog is in good hands. Thank you Sarah!

Safety, trust & environment

I approach the dogs I care for with care and leadership. I want dogs to know that I both care for them and give them a safe environment. I also do my best to replicate your dog's schedule at home i.e. if they are allowed on your furniture or sleep in your bed, that's what they will be allowed to do here! It really does help them settle in faster!

Information Sarah L. would like to know about your pet

Dogs that work best in my home are: comfortable around children, can be left alone for up to an hour and half (so I can go to yoga!), and dogs that don't bark too much! I also love to know about any dietary restrictions--I use limited ingredient treats with a unique protein, but am happy to adjust.

A typical day

I live super close to the Back Cove and often take dogs with me. If your dog is more reactive or needs less stimulation or a shorter distance, my neighborhood is great for that too! Until I know a dog really well, I don't let them have interactions with other dog for their safety.

I work from home and have a job with lots of flexibility. I usually do a long walk in the mornings and then a shorter walk at lunch time and after work (can adjust up or down based on your dog). I love to work on basic commands and do training during walks. I also take dogs with me wherever I go--to the beach, on hikes, and even to restaurants.
