Individual care for special needs
Pet care experience
Amateur animal behaviorist, avid dog-lover. Trainer in training, and SF SPCA volunteer. I have a special place in my heart for dogs with special needs--whether they are incredibly intelligent and energetic and need lots of stimulation, have had a rough past and need extra patience and TLC, or require medications to manage chronic health conditions--I tailor each visit to the individual animal. I work from home, have a flexible schedule, own reliable transportation, and I absolutely adore dogs of all breeds and all ages. Patient, kind, firm, yet doting--I can’t wait to pamper your beloved canine family member. I have over 15 years of experience caring for and training dogs, and I am always finding ways to learn more about our beloved four-legged companions. In my experience, fun and play balanced out with healthy boundaries and positive reinforcement leads to happy humans and happy animals! Specializing in individualized sessions allows me to learn each dog’s personal traits and focus on their unique needs. I am also certified in Dog First Aid & CPR, so I can act quickly and decisively in the case of an emergency. Let your mind rest at ease knowing your dear one is in good hands! p.s. This may be Rover, but I also love cats! I'm more than happy to visit homes shared by felines as well as canines. Please send me any special instructions and/or a little information about your cat when booking.
Reviews
Sarah was great!
Sarah was very thoughtful in making sure she knew what to do with Piper. They had a great time together and I will be hiring Sarah to visit Piper more in the future!
Sarah was great with Tipper! She tuned into his personality and enjoyed him just like we do. And the pics! She sent us lots of wonderful pictures of Tipper in different settings. So fun seeing him enjoy his time with Sarah.
Sarah was wonderful with my sweet but very shy dog. In addition I found her to be incredibly responsible and communicative and look forward to working with her again. I highly recommend her.

All of my stays are geared towards the unique needs of each individual animal. No two dogs or cats are exactly alike! When booking, please let me know what your pet needs most, and how you would like us to structure our visits. 30 minute Drop-ins: -For high-energy dogs, we'll spend most of our time walking or playing to get plenty of exercise. An added fee can increase our visit time to 45 or 60 minutes and extend the fun. -For older or disabled dogs, we can mix some appropriate exercise with lots of cuddles, as well as medication or special meals if needed. -For puppies, young dogs, or recent rescues, we can work on reinforcing new commands or routines, and we'll make sure that house training is kept on track. -For AM or PM visits, we can always add breakfast or dinner! Happy to provide a mid-day lunch as well.
