Pet care experience

For me, meeting your pet for the first time is kind of like the first day at Kindergarten - we’re both new, different, and want to be friends. I think my strongest quality as a pet caretaker is that I’m empathetic; I appreciate character and I am willing to listen and work to communicate. I genuinely care about you and your pet; I want both of you to feel comfortable and to be happy. I will be there for you and your pet; I will do my best to make sure your pet is happy and comfortable while we’re spending time together - and of course, you can rest assure that when you put your trust in me your pet will be safe. It’s a gift to me to be able to connect with and enjoy time caring your family pet. Some of My Experience: I grew up in a large family (7 sisters). We always had at least one cat and dog growing up and naturally shared in the responsibilities to care for them. As a young adult, I cared for my neighbors pets throughout the week, her two dogs and two cats. After school I would visit with her cats and dogs; take the dogs outside to play and for exercise. My neighbor’s pets all had specific dietary needs and some of them needed daily medication. I followed her instructions and made sure meals and medication were distributed accordingly. As an adult, I’ve had many other experiences taking care of and interacting with animals; voluntarily caring for family and friends pets; sheltering and rescuing injured animals (stray cats, kittens, bunnies, injured birds). I was also a very proud cat mama to my best friend, my cat Bowie. Bowie went missing in May of 2017. He was loved and cared for every second of every day and everyone adored how close and loving our relationship was. Bowie and I were inseparable and I am forever grateful for him and miss him always. I am still not over him, that's one reason why I do not have a pet family at this time. On that note: I understand the love you have for your pet and would be pleased if I can help you care for them. Thank you and I hope you'll consider having me care for your pet!

This was my first time using Rover. My cat needed medication applied to her ears. I was nervous about using a site to find a stranger to come into our home. Well, Sarah did a very good job dispelling that nervousness. Sarah is so sweet and very personable. She's the kind of person I'd like to have as a friend. She clicked with my cat quickly, and that's a major feat right there. My cat is old and can be rather cranky sometimes. Sarah took exceptional care of my cat and bonded with her too. I would definitely recommend her to anyone for caring for your pets. Thanks Sarah!
