Happy hounds, large fenced yard!

Pet care experience

We have a large fenced back yard where we play a lot of fetch, chase, and patrol for squirrels! Our neighborhood park is just a short walk away where more adventures await....including a seasonal pond! We provide overnight, drop in care, and daycare to dogs of all ages and would love to welcome your pup to our crew! I grew up on a small farm surrounded by dogs, cats, and all sorts of other critters. Animals have always been a part of my life and I especially love working with rescue/shelter dogs and young dogs learning their "good canine citizen" expectations. Our household includes personal pups, and a variety of small animals housed securely away from the dogs. In addition to dogs, we also board and housesit small animals...sorry, no kitties in our home but we're happy to watch them in yours! Those pesky details that are nice to know up front! * Proof of current rabies, canine distemper, and upper respiratory ("kennel cough") vaccines are required. Booster shots should be administered no less than 1 week before the beginning of your dog’s visit. *Boarding drop off/pick up hours run 8am-8pm If your travel plans requires a significantly earlier/later pick up than these please add a night to your request. * Overnight boarding hours run 24 hours from drop off..if your pup will be staying a significant portion of the following day then we will ask you to pay an additional full or half daycare rate. (ie.. Drop off Saturday morning 8am- Pick up Sunday 8pm = 1 overnight + 1 daycare)

I had a last minute need for a rover to board my dog for a night and Sarah wasn’t only accepting of that inconvenient situation, but she made it super easy as well. She had a few dogs in the house but introduced them all one by one and it was more of a playtime for her. She did a great job in a hard situation.

Sarah was great! Very responsive from the beginning and communication was constant through her visit. She sent pictures of our dogs which we always appreciate. I would definitely recommend Sarah to help with the care of your animals.

Safety, trust & environment

We have many years of experience with all temperaments and breeds of pups. We've been opening our home to boarding for more than 5 years and take safety seriously. We do care for pups from multiple households but stagger our arrivals and "build our pack" slowly watching for signs of stress. Pups are never left together unsupervised and while we do not require crating we do have crates available for pups that like to take a break and have their very own space! Our personal pups have been hosting all their lives and lead the way in providing a cheerful and balanced pack. We also have measures in place to prevent door dashing and independent adventures!

Information Sarah H. would like to know about your pet

We love to know how your pup prefers to meet new dogs and their interaction style (not every pup is a party animal and that's a-ok!), habits that we may need to know to keep them safe... (I'm looking at you pup who once climbed on my stove to reach the fridge to eat the bread bowl...), and how they have done with previous care providers. We've worked with all types and we love to set pups up for a great stay from the start!

A typical day

We love starting our morning with breakfast and romp time in the yard. We get up early so everyone can play. After some play the group is pretty ready to "down shift" and snooze till mid day. For our party animal friends our pup Luna is often happy to play ALLLL day! After some quiet time there is more play in the large fenced yard, walks to the park, and snoopervising the prep of human dinner. Pups and people eat dinner (we never offer people food to pups...but won't tell if you do!) then typically it's couch snuggles and tv time as we unwind from the day.

Availability

I'm home full time so we're a great option for pups that want company or a place to run off some extra energy! We're up early and our days start with happy greetings, breakfast, and a morning romp! Most dogs have a few natural "down shift and nap" points and we offer a "quiet time" mid day. We've found over the years that the group does best when allowed to have this break. Late afternoon is more potty and play then dinner time....finally there are couch snuggles and tv time while both humans and pups unwind after a busy fun day!
