Cat & Dog mom, lover of all animals

Pet care experience

I’m 30 years old, currently in between jobs after an unexpected layoff last week (end of April 2023). Because of this, I have open availability any day of the week. I've been around dogs and cats my entire life. I love all breeds, big and small! I currently have 1 dog and 3 cats. I’ve also had numerous dogs and cats throughout my life. •Dogs: I've cared for many breeds including boxers, labs, pit bulls, German shepherds, and border collies. Most of the dogs I've had throughout my life have been high energy dogs, so I'm good at handling hyperactive dogs. I’m also good at handling anxious doggos, whether it be separation anxiety or a fear of thunder. •Cats: I’m also very good at handling and interacting with all types of cats, both indoor and outdoor. I’ve worked with nervous nellies, spicy kitties, and everything in between. Honesty, communication, trustworthiness, and reliability are super important when booking a dog/cat walker/sitter. I’d love to meet with you to answer your questions, put any worries you may have at ease, and discuss you and your pet’s needs. Please note, I do bring my husband to every meet and greet for my safety. :) ***Meeting prior to any kind of pet sitting is preferred but usually not mandatory from my end and I will tell you upon inquiry if otherwise.*** What makes me different than other pet sitters is the relationship I build between the dogs/cats, their owners, and myself. I don’t see you as a potential client, I see you as a potential friend. I want to make this as easy and stress free as possible for you and your dog or cat. Feel free to contact me and tell me what I can do to help make that happen. ———————————————— ***Before booking, please note the following*** • dog boarding not available • Drop in visits for dogs are for up to 30 minutes and include feeding, water refill, letting outside to pee and play, and minor accident cleanups. • Drop in visits for indoor cats last 10-30 minutes and include emptying litter boxes, food and water refill, any other minor cat-related cleanup, and play time. • Drop in visits for outdoor cats include food and water refills. These visits usually take less than 5 minutes. For 2 or more outdoor cats, I will waive the additional cat fees prior to booking. • Walks are roughly 30 minutes with water & potty breaks, plus Food check (if requested) and water refill before I leave. • Housesitting: how many hours I stay at your home will be decided and agreed upon prior to booking. I do NOT stay overnight. • Meeting prior to booking a drop in visit or walk is preferred but usually not mandatory from my end and I will tell you upon inquiry if otherwise. Meeting prior to house sitting is required, no exceptions. I do bring my husband to every meet and greet for my own safety. •Meet and greet pricing is based on the distance I will be traveling. I live near the intersection of Hoffman road and Union road in Gastonia and use that Food Lion as my starting point. ~ 5 miles or less: free! ~ 5-10 miles: $5 ~ 10-15 miles: $10 ~ 15+ miles: $20 • there will be an additional travel fee for bookings more than 7 miles away. ———————————————— Tips: • drop ins are Ideal for: -separation anxiety -fear of loud noises (fireworks, thunder, noisey streets) -Puppies that are not house trained yet -Cats • walks are ideal for -high energy breeds -destructive behaviors due to boredom/loneliness/separation anxiety -live in an urban area/apartment -yard that’s not fenced in

Sarah was flexible with me as I booked her with 18 hours notice. She did everything she said she would do and gave our boy some love while I was at work. Would definitely recommend!

Sarah was dependable and so kind to our cats while we were away. We look forward to seeing her again, when traveling.

Sarah sent lots of pictures to assure me my babies were doing well. She even got down and took pictures of them under my bed. One of my kitties is very skiddish so she gave her a treat under the bed. Now that’s going above and beyond.

Sarah was excellent with my very hyperactive dog! She made sure to follow my instructions and my girl had a great time on their walks together! She even left a sweet note for us to come home to. Highly recommend!

Information Sarah H. would like to know about your pet

-if they get along with other dogs. -if they get anxious around certain types of people (male, female, children) -do they enjoy car rides? If not, how do they react when in a car? (jump out windows, bark/howl, vomit) -any history of aggression or nervousness -do they have separation anxiety? -what kind of leash they require -health conditions -allergies -quirky behaviors -and anything else I should know about your fur baby

A typical day

On walks, I’ll walk them around the neighborhood as long as there’s a sidewalk. I prefer taking higher energy dogs for walks on nature trails, or to a dog park if they get along well with other dogs and people. I also have a car, to ensure reliable transportation to/from any parks.
