I currently am a self employed pet sitter and dog groomer at Purrfect Paws. I work 8-4 and have Wednesdays and Sundays off. I would go straight to the clients house after work and stay until I would have to work the next day. I would spend most of the day there if not all day on my days off. I worked for a company; a dog walking and pet sitting business. I was one of three people who walked and took care of dogs around the Seattle area. Our walks were either one hour or half an hour. We also took them to the dog park to play with other dogs; often times handling up to ten dogs at a time and then driving them back home. I also stayed at client’s houses while pet sitting which consisted of feeding, walking, and snuggling with either cats or dogs and cleaning the house after so that it looked better than they left it. The client’s trust in me was very important in this field of work. I met with clients at their homes both before starting walking with me and/or pet sitting. I worked at a dog kennel in Evergreen, Colorado. The facility holds 100+ dogs for boarding and daycare sittings in around 30 dogs a day. They are in charge of feeding, watering, and providing medications for the dogs, cleaning kennels, taking dogs outside for playtime and to go potty, and of course belly rubs. They also provide the same care for cats. Sitting, I spent my time at my boss’s house, watching the dogs that she boards there as well as midday visits to dogs around the area and overnight sitting. I know what signs to look for in order to stop a fight from happening. If a fight should ever happen, I am very quick and will do whatever it takes to get the dogs to safety. I know to observe and record any unusual eating behavior as well as abnormal feces or vomiting. I know how to give a variety of medications, including shots. I’m a good cleaner, a hard-worker, and a quick learner. As a former barista, cashier and hostess, I also have good customer service skills. I currently have one dog of my own. Previously I have owned ducks, chickens, rats, mice, birds, salamanders, gerbils, cats and goats.
