Pet care experience
I have always had a love for animals and have had pets my entire life; dogs, cats, birds, fish! My family and friends tell me I am better with animals than I am with people. I love spending time hiking and exploring beautiful California and the Pacific NW and discovering new places along the west coast. I currently have one dog of my own, 12 year old Ziggy. My dog Gidget just passed away a few months shy of her 16th birthday. She had numerous health issues the last few years of her life so I have extensive experience caring for senior dogs and dogs who require special care due to medical reasons. I took a break from pet sitting and walking during the last year to give Gidget the most care and attention but I’m starting up again. I am comfortable with dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, and ages. I have experience with dogs who have leash aggression and/or “pulling”. I am responsible, communicative, and trustworthy. I don't just watch your pets, I give them love and affection like I would if they were mine. I'll keep you updated on what's happening and on any issues that arise. I live in the East Bay Area in Contra Costa County and will travel up to 14 miles from the 94521 zip code. For the best stay possible I need to know your animal's routine, feeding schedule, exercise, rules (not allowed on the couch!), and sleeping habits before you head out of town to make sure things go as smoothly as possible while you're away. I also need to know where you keep your cleaning supplies (in case of accidents or to sweep up litter, etc.). Having all of your contact information and a reliable emergency contact is also essential. All of the information I get helps to make your pet feel more secure and comfortable while you're away and will help you feel like they are in good hands!
A typical day
I can take your dog for walks along their usual route or somewhere new if you prefer. Most times, the dogs like to show off where they usually go so I can see all of their favorite places. I come supplied with bags, towels for wet and muddy paws, water, and a bowl. I'm also happy to take your dog to the dog park if you'd like! For walks, drop-ins, and overnight stays I do my best to leave your house in the exact same state it was when I arrived.
