Only the Best for Your Precious Pup

Pet care experience

20 years of experience working with dogs of every shape, size and temperament. I have volunteered for my local SPCA, worked with RainCoast Dog Rescue and studied dog injury rehabilitation. I am Certified through Coursera, Duke for Dog Emotions & Cognitive Behaviors, however, nothing has taught me more than my hands on experience. I offer dogs a fun and stimulating mix of games, adventurous hikes and relaxing beach strolls. Whether your dog needs an hour long jog or just some tummy tickles on a cozy bed I will ensure his/her needs are met. I think that the amount of time, engagement and love I give is what sets me apart from other larger companies. Your dog offers you unconditional love and there's no better way to show your appreciation than offering your dog the best care possible. I hope to see you and your best friend soon!

Sarah was absolutely amazing with our dog, Elessar (Ele). We had to leave him with Sarah for over 15 days while we traveled outside the country. She provided daily updates including videos and pictures, kept us informed on everything that was going on. It was a treat to watch videos of Ele having so much fun with Blue (Sarah's adorable dog). Ele was actually sulking in the car after we picked him up. He did not want to leave!! I will definitely use Sarah's services again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter in Victoria.

Sarah was lovely! I was stuck and she took in a friend's dog for my last minute. Thank you so much for being accommodating.

First off Daisy and Summit LOVE Sarah. It has been so wonderful to have found her to know that when we go away, that she stays in our home and treats the dogs like family. Both my dogs are older, one with special needs and Sarah went through all the instructions carefully with me and made sure everything was if we never left while we were away. She sends tons of photos and videos, and truly cares for the dogs as if they were her own. She's professional and even helped tidy up our house before we came home. So nice! Many people can say that they will look after your dogs while you're away, but many also don't have the knowledge and experience with dogs or their individual needs. I highly recommend Sarah for all these aspects. She does a fantastic job and really knows how to care for dogs especially ones with special needs.

I can't say enough great things about Sarah! Never has Bentley stayed with anyone who has been so amazing! Sarah sent daily (very detailed) updates about how Bentley was, what he was doing, etc.. and she sent tons of pictures and videos too. She also did many activities with him - hiking, fishing, swimming, fetch, snuggles, and lots of walks... he is very energetic, and can be a bit high-strung w/ some anxiety, but she handled him so well! Bentley was almost never left alone and was given tons of attention and love. I could tell she really cared for him and that made me feel great about leaving him with her for the week. Will definitely only use her in the future! :)

Having a dog of my own my house is very dog friendly. I’m thoughtful of using non toxic cleaners and keep a very clean residence. Garbage is always tucked away, plants are up high and none are toxic to animals and clothing/personal items are always put away promptly. I also have a two door entrance (go through one door into a mud room and then through a second door into the house) so dogs with a habit of making a run for it won’t be able to slip past me or anyone entering the residence.

Information Sarah B. would like to know about your pet

I like to know about a dogs typical routine and try to keep as closely to it as possible. It’s important to me that owners are honest about any behavioural or temperament issues. This won’t necessarily mean I don’t work with that dog but will help me to make sure the dog is set up for success and avoid putting it in situations in which it may struggle. I also like to know about an owners training techniques and cues so that I can stay consistent as well any allergies or dietary concerns.

A typical day

I’m passionate about dogs and helping them to have the best life possible. I do this through giving lots of love, affection and clear directions. Most dogs are eager to please so I enjoy working on their training and providing lots of positive reinforcement. I love to provide tasks and play games to keep dogs stimulated and have a range of toys from chewies to puzzles to nose work. Exercise is also important and is something I cater to each dogs individual needs.

I work part time from home and part time doing childcare on a beautiful dog friendly 7 acre farm. Dogs that are good with children (boy, 3yrs and very comfortable around dogs) are welcome to join me on the farm where they can enjoy running around, taking a dip in the pond, relaxing inside and playing with my dog Blue. If your dog prefers a child free environment they will need to be comfortable being left for 3.5-4.5 hours.
