Your Pets Home away from Home
Pet care experience
My partner Pete and I built Riverside Refuge to provide quality care for all your beloved family members. We offer cageless care for dogs and cats with dedicated human companionship so that each animal gets individual care and love. We have a large fenced in yard with separate areas for large and small dogs. We also have a dedicated indoor play and sleeping area for cats and a large living room for dogs to sleep. Our facilities are powered off-grid by renewable electricity and are located on 5 acres with creek frontage and abundant nature and walking trails out of our front door for us to take your dog if you so desire. Pete currently does all his work from home so will be on site whenever needed so your pet will always have us there to watch and play. Your pet will not be left alone. Pete is available all holidays too. Sue also works remotely and can be there on many days, particularly busy periods. While our tenants have dogs for yours to play with, the property has no kids or pets of our own so our time is dedicated to making sure your pet is our priority. We love all pets and are excited to share our property with them and make it their home away from home. We also have extensive experience in home security and care if you would like us to care for your pet in your home.

Very responsive, great communication, and relaxed. Sent lots of updates and pictures of our dog. She seemed comfortable, got to sleep on couch, explore the yard, and was given treats. Will definitely use them again for dog sitting

We use our over decade of professional security experience to be able to rapidly detect any potential safety threats and to keep a watchful eye on your pets and home while you away. Our property has a large fenced in yard (6 ft high) for dogs with multiple fenced areas so we can separate dogs if needed and a dedicated cat play rom with cat condos if we need to separate cats as well. Pets sleep inside with us our in bedroom or in neighboring living room or play room so we can easily hear them and rapidly respond to any issues. We pay close attention to all instructions you give us in taking care of your loved ones. Daily pics or videos with updates on your pets will be sent.

We are happy to administer special diets or medications and work with any special needs your dogs may have. Our house is one story and yard is mostly flat making it easy to navigate for dogs with mobility challenges.
A typical day
We love taking dogs for walks down to our creek or through the foothills our our front door. We are always happy to engage in a game of catch or frisbee with lots of belly rubs and ear scratches. For cats, we check in on cat play room hour and have multiple toys to play with them depending on how social and active they are.

We have no kids or pets of our own so our focus is taking care of your pets. We currently do all work from home with time flexibility so we can be available 24/7 to watch your loved ones.
