Vet skills, care when YOU need it!

Pet care experience

I am a 35 year old single mother who spent the last 17 years working in all kinds of Veterinary hospitals, from general practice to 24 hour emergency veterinary hospitals, and I've had to take leave from work to care for and aid in the education of my 9 and 11 year old human children, and want to still hold on to my passion for pet care, and this seems to be where my current situation has led me.... I am looking to expand my clientele, as I want to provide as much income as I can for my family from home, all while snuggling and giving the highest level of care for your furry loved one. I have the skills and background to provide an excellent environment for your baby while you're away or can drop in to your home to care for your family member when you are unable. I have 2 small children, ages 11 and nearly 9 who are guaranteed to keep your pet busy and provide lots of fun for your dog while you work or vacation or whatever you have on your plate. **DISCLAIMER: All minor children will be supervised 100% of the time by myself, a Rover certified sitter. ** I am responsible and equipped to handle any situation that arises and can proficiently provide excellent "at home care" for those pets who need daily medication or have special needs. I have 5 cats that have grown up around dogs, and I also have a 3 year old spayed female Deer head Chihuahua, named Zara, and an adult intact female chihuahua named Bitzy... and they LOVE COMPANY! We also have two neutered male blue heelers named Rolo and Twix that are brothers and are young adults. Please consider me for your Rover needs any time, I will answer your need within minutes most days. Thank you so much and stay safe out there folks! 🤗

Sara is amazing. She went above and beyond for our poor diabetic dog also was dealing with an ear hematoma as we left for vacation. Her expertise and professionalism gave us so much comfort while out. I couldn't have asked for a better person to take care of our special needs animal while not in town. Book Sara, you will not regret it!!

Our older kitty was prescribed a course of steroid pills right before we left on a big trip so we realized that we needed extra help. Sara did a great job of taking care of our kitty while we were gone. She was very responsive and provided great details in her daily updates along with pictures. It was hard to leave our sweet kitty but such a relief to know that an experienced caregiver was giving her great care.

Sara was amazing in taking care of my pup. I almost thought my doggo was on vacation. I received so many pictures of my doggo on walks, river swims, and hanging out with Sara's family. She learned how to share spaces with cats and be good around kids. Hands down, I would definitely use Sara's help again in taking care of my crazy dog when I am away. She is very knowledgeable about animals and treats them like her own. Any animal in Sara's care is in goods hands ?

Information Sara M. would like to know about your pet

All dogs MUST be kid, cat, and small dog friendly. If it were just me, I would have more openness to fearful pets being in a new situation boarding in my home, however, before my time with Rover (3-4 years ago) I did unfortunately have a fearful pet that bit my daughter at one point (on the arm, but didn't break skin) and I cannot knowingly put my children or my animals at that sort of risk again so - that being said - since that incident we have taken what we've learned, and have molded our daily routine around what we can read from breed behavior, allowing the fur kid to be able to give trust when THEY are ready, not when we want them to be ready, and giving my daughter a wonderful head start for her long life of loving animals like her mama - and through this it's giving me an awesome opportunity to be able to teach my daughter from a very young age how we can safely and effectively greet a fearful pet without risk, and without causing more fear. So unfortunately if your pet is a high fear, high anxiety animal and you need boarding, I'm probably not the sitter for you, unless drop in visits at your home would be an option, as I would not have my children around during a drop in with a timid, fearful fur baby, allowing me the space to gain your kids trust, and time for one on one connection and bonding. That makes this scenario a much better and less traumatizing few days with a new friend a less frightening.
