Why I love dog sitting I have owned and loved dogs my entire life. My first dog was a German Short-Haired Pointer named Jake. He inspired me to spend my spare time working with animals. I have watched dogs for neighbors, family, and friends since I was about 11. I have taken care of Yorkies all the way up to Great Pyrenees. I also have experience with dogs with special needs and dietary restrictions. I can do basic grooming and administer medication as needed. Whatever your pup needs I am happy to help!

Information Sara M. would like to know about your pet
I would love to know if your dog has any special needs, or if they have specific times that they like to be fed or walked. I also appreciate it if you tell me of any behavioral problems ahead of time, so I can plan ahead. I love any and all breeds!
A typical day
Time I'll spend with your dog For traveling pet sitting, I spend at least 30 minutes with your pup 4 times a day. Often these trips are closer to an hour. My usual visit times are: 7AM, 1 PM, 7PM, and 11PM. If your pup is staying in my home, they are constantly getting my attention. I live with my parents and we are all very pet friendly, so often if I am not petting your pup someone else will be. For Daily Walks, all walks average between 15-30 minutes. If you have a bit higher energy of a dog it will range from 30-50 minutes. I often try to add in a little playtime afterwards also. Extra house-sitting services Yes! I understand how important it is to manage upkeep while you are away. I am happy to water plants, bring in the mail, take out the garbage, feed the fish, etc.

Pet care experience
I live in a three story home with a fair sized yard. I take all dogs on two walks per day (one in the morning and one in the evening) and for general potty breaks another 3-4 times a day. I have a corgi at home, so your pup must be friendly to additional canine attention. We live in a pet friendly neighborhood that frequently has other pet walkers in it. Our home is pet safe, but we do have two major stair cases, so pets with major arthritis may have a problem getting upstairs. Pets are allowed to sleep on couches, cushions, and our beds. We don't mind the extra company. We have extra space for a kennel or pet bed, if your pet might enjoy those instead. I have experience with pets with a select diet, as well as pets who need to take daily medication. If you have any other specific needs I would be happy to have a preliminary meeting and get instructions for whatever you need done. Please don't be afraid to message me any questions you have. About this sitter: I have owned dogs my entire life, and have been a pet sitter since my early teens. I have experience with dogs as small as a Yorkie and as big as a Great Pyrenees. I can do basic grooming and have worked with dogs who have a specific diet and/or need medication. I also have experience with high energy puppies, and elderly dogs who just need a good rub. I love dogs of all shapes and sizes, and I am looking for a consistent job doing something I love. I am an honest, responsible, and timely undergraduate student. I currently own a lovable Pembroke Welsh Corgi. I know how much a pet means to a family. My goal is to treat your pet with as much love and respect as I would expect from someone watching my dog. I offer all of the following services, but if more care is needed, contact me and we can discuss any alterations. These include: Daily dog walking, vacation pet sitting, overnight pet sitting (up to 14 days), dog park visits, basic trick training, basic grooming, and any other general needs your pet may have. I have some experience with cats, small mammals, and fish as well. All of my customers here on Rover have become repeat customers!
Reviews

I had a long trip during Memorial Day last year and I asked Sara to watch my dog at home for a couple days. She took really good care of my Jodi (3yr Pitbull), she always kept me up-to-date when she arrived and departed my house. She sent me pictures and long details how my dog was. I was able to enjoy my trip and be worry-free. I would def. recommend and hire her again. Sara is very professional and great to have take care of your dog.
We just moved to the area and went through trying to find a boarding place, which is pretty expensive in this area. After paying an arm and a leg to board our dogs, we came across Sarah on rover.com. Not only is she absolutely phenomenal with our guys, but she is very accommodating when it comes to scheduling. Our Boston Terrier has to take medication for seizures and when we are out for extended periods of time Sarah gives it to him with no issues. We couldn't be happier with Sarah and would highly reccomend her to anyone.
I have had Sara watch my Cashew on many occasions now and she is the best sitter to date. I get daily updates and pictures of my furbaby which makes me feel so secure in leaving him for extended periods of time. Sara is very professional but her love of animals is deep and commitment to their care is 100%. Thank you Sara for your flexibility in scheduling, your patience with my incessant checkups during the first sitting service, and most of all your love and care for my little old dog.

Sara is great and my dogs just love her. With 4 dogs having special food requirements and one needing a shot it is not an easy gig but she handles it with ease. Thanks Sara!!
