Hi! I'm Sara—a lifelong animal lover, mindful human, student of the world, and steward of the environment. I decided to join Rover after my brilliant, beautiful, and hilarious lab-beagle mix, Applejack, crossed the Rainbow Bridge in 2018 after we spent over 15 wonderful years together. Although I'm sure she would've loved to run around in a nice, big fenced-in yard, we never had one, so we went for multiple walks every single day of her life—in rain, wind, heat, and even the rare Charleston snow! Since Applejack passed away, I have found myself missing our walks almost as much as I miss her sweet face, so when I heard about Rover, it seemed like a perfect opportunity for me to help pets and their people while also allowing me to get back out into the world and connect with dogs (and cats, too) in a way that I know from experience is so meaningful and powerful—not to mention fun! (Quick note: I will need to meet you and your pet(s) and visit your home before accepting any in-home sitting requests.)

Sara is an excellent pet sitter! We entrust her with the care of our senior dog, Jay. He is treated as if he were her pet. It is a great pleasure to have her take such good care of our pets, and I greatly appreciate her thoughtfulness. Having Sara care for my pets is everything that I look for in a pet sitter. She's warm, friendly, and responsible.
Sara is amazing and took great care of our cat while we were on vacation. I usually feel a lot of anxiety when we leave for long periods of time, but her frequent updates and communication really put me at ease. She is very trustworthy and caring, and we will most definitely book her again in the future! :)

Sara was a fantastic house & dog sitter for us! Our little man Atlas is 16 and doesn't do well outside his own environment, so having a trustworthy sitter come stay at our place is important. From the getgo Sara was quick to communicate and it was great that she wanted to meet in person to make sure it was a good fit. Atlas was super happy when he first met Sara, and they seemed to have a good time together. We got proactive daily updates with pictures, and she asked clarifying questions on a couple of things to ensure she was meeting our needs/requests. The house was super clean when we returned just like we left it. We left for the airport earlier than her arrival (as planned), and although she was running a little late to arrive at our house, she was transparent about it and offered to stay longer on the final day to make up for it, which was appreciated. Overall, she was wonderful, saved our Thanksgiving plans by responding to a last-minute request, and we'd absolutely have her back if/when the need arises! Thanks Sara!

I would prefer to meet your dog(s)/cat(s) before we set up any arrangements just to make sure everybody gets along with each other. If your dog is over 60 pounds, s/he must be leash-trained.
A typical day
Although I am happy with whatever makes your pup happy, I am a big fan of long walks and will stroll with a dog for as long as they like (or are allowed to go). I also love going to the dog park or playing fetch in the yard!

Any pets I take care of are always my first priority. If you have a pet who has some separation anxiety or needs a human companion 24/7, I will be able to devote that time to your furry friend.
