Walk it Out: Doggy Daycare & Board!

Pet care experience

We are two loving dog moms that live here with our pups Nasa and Ciabatta (yes, like the bread!). We LOVE hosting other doggies and giving them the same amount of love that we give our own. This means: tons of walks, cuddles, love, and treats! One of our dogs has special needs, so we are definitely open to hosting doggies with unique needs as well. Just let us know and we are happy to accommodate. About the hosts: Amber and Sara have a combined doggy mom experience of 15 years! Amber has a flexible work schedule but is never away for more than 8 hours and Sara works from home. This mean the dogs get a nice early morning walk, 1-2 walks during the day, and 1-2 walks in the evening. Your doggy's vacation day with us includes at least 3 walks (but usually 4-5) and unlimited play time! Sometimes Sara takes a walk to the dog park and allows the dogs to run around and interact with other friends. On the weekends, Sara and Amber like to drive to Prospect Park or Fort Greene park with the pups and play in the grass. Some things we offer: - We definitely understand the need for flexible scheduling so we allow for same-day booking & drop off. - We have a car so we can offer pick-up and drop-off at your house as well, if need be. - Having a car also means that we can take your pup to the vet in any emergencies and/or if you request for us to do so while they are vacationing with us for any routine appointments. - Care for elderly or disabled dogs About the house: We live in a high-rise building with A/C, elevator, and a 24 hour doorman. There is also a great outdoor space in the back of the building where the dogs can run around as well as a small balcony attached to our apartment that most dogs like to sit on. Our apartment is filled with light and one of the things that our pups like to do best is lay in the living room next to the floor-to-ceiling windows and take a nap in the sun. We have a large bin of toys that our doggies are happy to share, along with a surplus of all-natural treats. About the dogs in residence: Nasa is a spaniel-terrier rescue from Puerto Rico. She has the biggest, sweetest heart and is super calm and relaxed. It takes her a bit to warm up to new dogs, but she always ends up playing with our doggy guests by the end of their stay! Ciabatta (also known as Chi Chi) is a red-nose and snooty mix that Amber has had since birth. Even though he is so big and much older now, he still thinks he's a small lap dog! He also has the biggest heart and loves to play with new dogs (especially smaller ones because he thinks that he is the same size!). Please note: Chi Chi is not neutered so if your pups aren't either, just let us know and Chi Chi can go stay at his friend's house for the time that your dog is vacationing with us! He LOVES his friend, so this is not a problem at all :) Please note: all doggy guests must be fully house-trained. Looking forward to meeting you and to boarding your paw-tastic pup!

Sara and Amber were great! We sent our pup over for a trial run, to make sure he is compatible for a long term stay. They were very accommodating, sent updates, and our dog was happy and enjoying when we picked him up. It seemed like he didn't want to leave! I feel at ease leaving him with the ladies for a week!

Juno came back from her Vacay, happy and healthy, and we got pictures of her having a good time. Sara and Amber's place it very dog friendly, and their dogs are sociable and playful.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the care that my pup received at Sara and Amber's. They were extremely friendly, flexible with a late pick-up time, responsive, and made me feel very much at ease with my dog's wellbeing. Their home was extremely dog friendly, and their neighborhood is well suited for plenty of walks. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone seeking boarding for their dog. Thanks Sara and Amber!!
